Riverview Tourist Park

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what struck me first about Riverview Tourist Park? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street – Wilmott Avenue – which means you’re not dealing with the typical tourist trap chaos that hits Margaret River’s main strips during peak season. I mean, you’re still only a few minutes from everything that matters, but there’s something refreshing about pulling into a place that feels more like a local secret than a billboard destination.
The “tourist park” name might throw you off if you’re expecting something fancy, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. This isn’t trying to be some slick resort – it’s genuine accommodation that works for families, couples, whoever really. The facilities are solid (that 4-star rating isn’t just for show), and the grounds have this lived-in feel that makes you want to actually hang out rather than just crash for the night. I loved how quiet it gets in the evenings – you can actually hear the sounds of the surrounding neighborhood settling in, which beats the highway noise you get at some of the more “conveniently located” places closer to Bussell Highway.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. When I asked about wine tastings, the person at reception didn’t just hand me a generic brochure – they actually asked what I was into and steered me toward a couple smaller cellar doors that ended up being highlights of the trip. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly choreographed welcome routine some places put you through. There’s decent parking (which, let’s be honest, matters more than you think when you’re hauling wine purchases back to your room), and the whole setup feels like it was designed by people who actually travel rather than just host travelers. The 8.7 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not perfect, and the decor won’t win any design awards, but everything works well and the value is spot-on for Margaret River, where accommodation costs can get pretty wild during busy periods. If you’re looking for something authentic rather than Instagram-perfect, this place gets it right.

Latkinson from Australia (March 25, 2025)
Well appointed, comfortable cabins with comfortable beds.
What could be improved: My parking position was quite awkward to get in and out of with a big 4X4.
Sheridan from Australia (March 24, 2025)
Very pretty, quiet location, cabin was clean and comfortable, loved the birds and staff were friendly.
What could be improved: The road to the cabin I stayed in was very narrow and tight, getting around corners was difficult. The car bay for my cabin was difficult to get into.

All of the staff we encounter were beyond lovely.
The location is incredibly quiet on the river with beautiful walking trails.
What could be improved: The bed was a little uncomfortable, maybe need to be a buy firmer or time for upgrade.
