Reflections Brunswick Head – Holiday Park
You know what caught me off guard about Reflections Brunswick Head? It’s actually positioned perfectly on Fingal Street – close enough to everything but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling past your cabin at 2am. I mean, Brunswick Heads gets pretty lively during peak season, but this place feels like you’ve found the sweet spot where families can actually relax.
The whole setup is honestly more polished than your typical holiday park. Sure, it’s still got that classic Australian caravan park vibe, but they’ve clearly put some thought into the landscaping and facilities. The cabins are well-maintained (no musty smell or dodgy plumbing like some places I’ve stayed), and there’s actually decent space between sites so you’re not listening to your neighbor’s TV through paper-thin walls. What really works here is how they’ve balanced the family-friendly atmosphere without making it feel like a kiddie resort – you’ll see young couples and retirees mixing happily with families, especially during the quieter weekday periods.
Here’s the thing about the location though – and this is something you won’t get from the booking photos – you’re literally five minutes’ walk from the Brunswick River, and the main beach is maybe ten minutes if you don’t mind a gentle stroll. The river’s actually the hidden gem here; way calmer than the ocean for kids, and you can rent kayaks or just float around on a lazy afternoon. Parking’s never been an issue when I’ve visited (and I’ve been here during Easter holidays when half of Brisbane seems to descend on the place). The staff at reception are locals who actually know the area – they’ll point you toward the less touristy fishing spots or let you know when the dolphins are usually around the headland.
Check-in’s pretty straightforward, though if you’re arriving on a Friday afternoon in summer, expect a bit of a queue. The amenities blocks are clean and modern enough, with decent water pressure – honestly, that’s half the battle with these places. One small thing that shows they pay attention: the BBQ areas actually get cleaned regularly and the hotplates work properly. There’s something to be said for a place where you can cook your Byron Bay prawns without scraping off someone else’s burnt sausages first. The only real downside is that mobile reception can be patchy depending on your provider, but let’s be honest – that’s half the appeal of coming to Brunswick Heads anyway.

The reason we stayed there for many years now - is because of the Location - Even if it did rain the whole 5 days/nights we were there and the pub was closed for 2 nights due to local flooding . I had 20mins of sun and caught a good size Bream
