HOTEL OVERVIEW

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Paloma Perissia — you know how these big resort hotels can be hit or miss, especially along the Turkish coast. But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It sits right on the Kumkoy stretch between Side and Manavgat, which means you get that perfect balance of being close enough to the ancient ruins (seriously, Side’s Roman theater is maybe a 10-minute drive) but far enough from the main tourist chaos to actually relax.

The thing that struck me first was how they’ve managed to feel upscale without being stuffy about it. I mean, yes, it’s got all the five-star touches you’d expect, but the staff genuinely seems to care rather than just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth — no endless waiting around in marble lobbies like some places. The rooms face either the Mediterranean or these surprisingly lush gardens, and if you can swing it, go for the sea view. Trust me on this one. There’s something about watching the fishing boats head out at dawn that just hits different when you’re actually on vacation. The pools are well-maintained without being overcrowded, though I’d avoid the main one around 2 PM when families with kids tend to take over (not a bad thing, just depends what you’re after). What I really appreciated was the beach access — it’s not one of those rocky, impossible-to-navigate situations. The sand is decent, and the water stays pretty calm thanks to the way this part of the coast curves.

Food-wise, they’ve got options that go beyond the typical resort buffet routine, though honestly the breakfast spread is pretty impressive if you’re into that sort of thing. The Turkish coffee is actually good, which you can’t always count on at these bigger places. Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned if you want to explore — Manavgat’s waterfall is worth the trip, and the Side museum won’t take more than an hour but it’s fascinating if you’re into history at all. The hotel runs shuttles to the main Side area, which is handy because parking there can be a nightmare, especially during summer months. I stayed in late September and the weather was still gorgeous, but you could tell things were winding down from peak season, which actually made everything more pleasant. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me — it’s solidly excellent without being perfect, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. It’s the kind of place where you can be as active or as lazy as you want, and either way feels right.

Hotel
The common areas like the reception and some parts of the lobbies are refurbished and modern looking or in some places refurbished but in a classic style e.g the area where the cars are. Other areas may seem a little outdated.
Rooms
I booked a room with sea view and at first we got a room with a view on the garden. I had a chat with the ladies at the reception and our room was changed next day with no issues, now with a sea view looking west.
The rooms has been refurbished (e.g the bathrooms) a couple of years ago, but the furniture is a little dated. In our rooms there were little couches which needs at least a deep clean so we did not use them.
Staff
Generally the staff is very kind and helpful, but expect a language barrier as apart from the ladies at the reception the English knowledge is an issue.
Security
There are security staff at the hotel entrance checking who is entering the building and also at the beach. I found that the security at the pool area is also good.
Restaurants
The main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner operates in a buffet system, large selection of food, but 90% of it is the same every day. There are different local foods avaialble as well on a daily basis. I generally found the food good quality with some exceptions (e.g the lunch meats at breakfast). During the day snacks are avaialble but 99% only sweets, cakes and cookies. There were some sandwiches as well. Three bars are operating during the day, one of them next to the pools. Three a la carte restaurants are also available but should be booked in advnace, Quentine (beach), Wabi Sabi (Asain in the main building), and Curio (steak restaurant with additional charge). We tried the Quentine but apart from the good location it was the same rush feeling as the main restaurant.
Pools
There are three main pools and one small pool with slides for kids. There are activities during the day at the pool area.
Paloma Waterpark is also great with fee transfer.

We had a lovely trip to Paloma Perissia! It was clean, had good facilities and the food was great. There was plenty of space around the pool and lots of activities. There was also a really fun aqua park at a neighbouring hotel
The staff were very friendly and even left special touches in our room!

wonderful hotel with prime sea view on Side beaches. the hotel and the rooms were very clean and pleasant. we booked the family suite, and it was worth it: separated room for kids, 2TVs, 2mini fridges with soft drinks that they get reloaded everyday, bathroom with Jacuzzi and shower.

All the meals were great, with Snack and sandwitches available all day long for fussy eaters like my little one. there was not too much choices, but we loved the quality and the good presentation of the food.

my kids enjoyed the kids club and my wife enjoyed the SPA.

most of the stuff were smiling and welcoming and we appreciated the hospitality.
