Plus, the lobby has this modern but warm feel – lots of natural stone and wood that doesn’t scream “chain hotel.”

What really sold me on the place was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually staying somewhere. The parking is ample and free (trust me, this matters in Turkey), the rooms are properly soundproofed despite being on a major road, and the air conditioning actually works efficiently – something you can’t take for granted in central Anatolia’s extreme temperatures. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well too. When I asked about visiting the nearby Phrygian Valley ruins, the concierge didn’t just hand me a generic brochure but actually sketched out a route that avoided the tour bus crowds. The breakfast spread leans heavily Turkish, which I appreciate – proper menemen, fresh bread, local cheeses, though they do the international stuff well too if that’s your thing. I’ll be honest, the location means you’ll need a car or taxi to explore Afyon’s old town with its famous castle and ottoman houses, but the trade-off is you get this calm, almost resort-like atmosphere that’s hard to find in city center hotels. For the price point and that 8.8 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises – a proper base for exploring this underrated part of Turkey, with enough comfort and amenities that you might just decide to skip a day of sightseeing and enjoy the wellness facilities instead.
