First Impressions
When I first pulled up to VVF Normandie Veules-les-Roses, I’ll be honest — it felt like I’d stumbled onto something special that most tourists completely miss. This three-star property sits right along the Côte d’Albatre, and you know what struck me immediately? The fact that I could actually find a parking spot without circling for twenty minutes, which is honestly a miracle in coastal Normandy during summer. The welcoming atmosphere and easy access made an immediate positive impression.
Location & Setting
The location here is genuinely outstanding — couples seem to get it, rating it 8.3, and I can see why. Veules-les-Roses is this tiny coastal village that feels almost too picturesque to be real, with the shortest river in France running right through it. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from pebble beaches and those dramatic white cliffs that make this stretch of coast so famous. What I loved is that you get all the charm of seaside Normandy without the crowds that swamp places like Étretat. The natural beauty here is truly remarkable.
The Accommodation
The room I stayed in was comfortable in that unpretentious way that French vacation villages do so well. Nothing fancy, but everything you actually need — and the view toward the coast made up for any lack of frills. The setup feels more like a holiday village than a traditional hotel, which works perfectly if you’re looking to unwind rather than impress anyone on Instagram. I mean, sometimes you just want a clean, quiet space where you can hear the waves in the distance. The simplicity is actually refreshing.
Village Life & Dining
Here’s where staying in Veules-les-Roses really pays off — the village itself becomes your entertainment. There’s a lovely little restaurant scene centered around fresh seafood (the mussels are incredible), and you can walk everywhere along cobblestone streets lined with thatched cottages. The morning routine of grabbing fresh bread from the local boulangerie and wandering down to watch the fishing boats became my favorite part of each day. It’s that slow, authentic Norman coastal life that you can’t manufacture. The dining options showcase local flavors beautifully.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place work is the combination of genuine local atmosphere and hassle-free logistics. You get free parking right on-site, which eliminates the usual coastal vacation stress, and you’re staying in one of Normandy’s most charming villages rather than some generic resort town. The 8.3 rating reflects exactly what you’d expect — solid, reliable accommodation in an absolutely gorgeous setting. It’s perfect for couples who want to explore the Norman coast at their own pace, maybe day-trip to nearby Dieppe or Fécamp, but come home to somewhere peaceful and authentically French each evening. This property delivers genuine value and authentic experience.

Rather simple 70s/80's standard, enough space for a family with two or three smaller kids. The small extra bedroom is for maximum three smaller kids. Nice staff, helpful. The charming village and the beach is about a 15 minute walk away.

The Chalet was good and the site was kept cleaned.

It was lovely. We were there during Scottish October break and the place was pretty much empty, very quiet. Indoor swimming pool was a huge bonus as well.

The family with three children had a vacation. The hotel exceeded expectations. The room was clean and had everything necessary for relaxation, except for toiletries. There was crisp white bedding, plenty of dishes, a kettle, a toaster, and cookware. Everything advertised on the website was present in the room. It takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the...

The indoor pool was nice during the cold weather, coldish water though.
Short walk to the center of Veules-les-Roses.
