Echo Holiday Parks – Windsor Gardens
You know what struck me first about Echo Holiday Parks – Windsor Gardens? It’s actually not your typical holiday park at all. Tucked away on Windsor Grove in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, this place feels more like a proper neighborhood accommodation that just happens to have some serious space to breathe. I mean, when you pull up, you’re not dealing with that cramped motel vibe – there’s actual room to park without playing automotive Tetris, which honestly is half the battle in Adelaide.
The thing about this spot is it sits in this sweet spot between being close enough to everything but far enough out that you’re not dealing with city noise all night. You’re about twenty minutes from the CBD if traffic’s playing nice, and honestly, the drive takes you through some decent parts of town so it’s not like you’re stuck in some industrial wasteland. The rooms themselves are pretty solid for a three-star setup – I was expecting that slightly tired holiday park aesthetic, but they’ve clearly put some effort into keeping things fresh. The beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong), and there’s proper storage space, not just a sad little cupboard that can barely fit a weekend bag.
What really gets me about this place though is the staff actually seem to know what they’re doing. Check-in was smooth, they knew the area well enough to give decent restaurant recommendations – not just the usual chain places but some local spots that actually turned out great. The grounds are well-maintained too, which matters more than you think when you’re staying somewhere for a few days. You can tell they take pride in the place rather than just going through the motions. Sure, it’s not luxury – you’re not getting marble bathrooms or turn-down service – but for what you’re paying, it delivers exactly what it promises. The 8.0 rating makes sense when you actually stay there; it’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not but does what it does really well. Plus, if you’re exploring Adelaide’s wine regions or need a base that’s not right in the thick of things but still accessible, this ticks all the boxes without breaking the bank.

Unfortunately Cabin 2 was right outside the rubbish collection area which was overflowing ( most probably the day before collection) I would have like to open my bedroom window as there was a breeze but the sight and smell put me off.
