Cowboy Village Resort
First Impressions
Honestly, when I first pulled into Cowboy Village Resort, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds almost too themed, you know? But this three-star property in Jackson actually pulls off the Western vibe without feeling like a tourist trap. The log cabin-style buildings are scattered across the property like a little frontier village, and there’s something genuinely charming about it that hits you right away.
The Cabin Experience
Each room here is actually its own individual cabin, which I didn’t realize until I arrived. Mine had knotty pine walls, Western-themed artwork that didn’t feel cheesy, and — this was a pleasant surprise — a small sitting area with a gas fireplace. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for a property that could’ve easily gotten away with just playing up the theme.
Location and Jackson Access
You’re about a mile south of Jackson’s town square, which means you get that slightly-removed-from-the-chaos feeling while still being close enough to walk downtown when you want to. The location on Flat Creek Drive is actually perfect if you’re planning day trips to Grand Teton or Yellowstone — you’ll skip most of the morning traffic heading out of town. Plus, there’s decent parking right at your cabin door, which anyone who’s dealt with Jackson’s downtown parking situation will appreciate.
Practical Details
The property doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and that works in its favor. There’s a small front desk in the main building where the staff is genuinely helpful with local recommendations — they know which trails are crowded and which restaurants actually live up to the hype. I mean, this isn’t a resort with a spa or elaborate amenities, but it has what you need: clean cabins, reliable Wi-Fi, and that frontier atmosphere that somehow feels authentic rather than manufactured.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you’re expecting Jackson Lake Lodge or Hotel Jackson, this isn’t that — and that’s exactly why it works. The Cowboy Village Resort gives you a taste of the Old West without the old-timey inconveniences, and the cabin setup means you’re not dealing with noisy neighbors in adjacent rooms. For families or couples who want to experience Jackson Hole without breaking the bank on accommodation, this place delivers solid value. It’s the kind of spot where you actually sleep well after a day of hiking, and you’ll find yourself sitting on your cabin’s small porch in the evening, planning the next day’s adventure.

Our room was huge with an extremely well equipped kitchen. We only stayed one night but our stay was perfect, the room was comfortable and clean and the staff were really helpful answering our various questions.

Great location near the center of town but far enough to be quiet & peaceful. Parking is easy right by your cabin, making it so convenient to os o & unpack the car. We liked the cabins with a pleasant balcony where we could relax at the end of a hiking day. What could be improved: Breakfast isn’t really breakfast: just a coffee service with some...
