Mudgee Valley Park
You know what struck me first about Mudgee Valley Park? It’s actually tucked away on Bell Street in this quiet residential pocket where you wouldn’t expect to find accommodation – but honestly, that’s part of its charm. I mean, you’re staying somewhere that feels more like a neighborhood than a tourist strip, which is pretty refreshing when you’re trying to get a real feel for Mudgee.
The place has this unpretentious, family-run vibe that I really appreciated. Sure, it’s a 3-star property, but they’ve clearly put thought into the details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The rooms are clean and comfortable without trying too hard to be fancy, and there’s decent parking right on-site (which, let’s be honest, can be a pain in some of these country towns). What I loved was how quiet it gets at night – you’re close enough to walk into the main part of town for dinner, but far enough from the weekend crowds that you can actually sleep. The staff genuinely seemed to know the area well too, not just the obvious tourist stuff but where locals go for coffee or which wineries are worth the drive versus the ones that are just trading on location.
Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned for exploring the Mudgee wine region without being stuck in the middle of all the Saturday afternoon hen’s parties (trust me, that’s a thing here). It’s maybe a 10-minute stroll to the main shopping strip and some decent cafes, but you can also easily drive out to the cellar doors that are scattered around the valley. The whole setup just feels practical in a way that a lot of places don’t – like someone actually thought about what travelers need rather than what looks good in photos. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to spend time properly exploring the region rather than just ticking boxes. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a few days and use it as a proper base, which is exactly what Mudgee deserves.

Great Location and a really well thought out plan for the cabins. The 2 bedroom was really nice.

Very comfortable lounge and firm bed. Modern bathroom with separate toilet. Air conditioned with ceiling fans.
We stayed in a deluxe 2br cabin.
Could be improved
It needs another mirror. Only mirror is in the bathroom. None in the bedrooms.
Pool is a bit old with mould marks. It was clean (I hope) and it served the purpose to cool down.

Having young children with me I felt very at ease and safe within the park. The kids loved the pool and I loved the fact it is now covered with the shade cloth. But I do think something a little more extra for the play ground would help.

The kids play ground - not enough there.

We stayed in what appeared to be a brand new cabin with all modern amenities. What could be improved: My wife complained that there wasn't a decent mirror anywhere. I think the back screen door near the bathroom needs some sort of blind or curtain for privacy. We didn't have a concrete pad or park space, I was on my new harley-davidson and had to...

Very comfortable cabin, great facilities and wifi was good. We’re given later check out until 12pm which was nice. What could be improved: Kids room not open first 2 days. Also had a delay getting to our cabin as keys weren’t left out after calling 2 hrs before arrival and no lanes worked in the 2 bedrooms for first 2 days of our stay - we...

The deluxe cabin had a very new feeling about it and was very clean and comfortable.

We were extremely disappointed that the fast speed internet kept dropping out constantly 2 days out of the 3 we stayed.
