Tasman Holiday Parks – Torquay Palms Overview

You know what struck me first about Tasman Holiday Parks – Torquay Palms? It’s not trying to be something it isn’t. This is a proper holiday park that knows exactly what it’s doing, and honestly, after staying at too many places that promise the world and deliver hotel lobby coffee, that was refreshing.

The location on Truro Street is actually brilliant if you know Hervey Bay at all. You’re tucked away from the main Esplanade chaos – which means you can actually sleep without drunk backpackers stumbling past your window at 2am – but you’re still close enough to walk to the good cafes along the waterfront. I mean, it’s maybe a 10-minute stroll to get your feet in the sand, and there’s something to be said for being able to grab proper groceries at the nearby shops without needing to drive everywhere. The parking situation is straightforward too, none of that cramped nonsense you get at some places where you’re playing car Tetris every time you want to pop out.

What really works here is how they’ve got the balance right between having facilities that matter (the pool area is genuinely nice, not just an afterthought) and keeping things relaxed. The cabins and sites are well-spaced – you’re not listening to your neighbor’s TV show whether you want to or not. I stayed during whale watching season and the place was busy but never felt crowded, which tells you something about how they manage capacity. The staff actually seem to know the area well too; when I asked about the best spot to catch the sunset without fighting for space with tour groups, they pointed me toward a little section of beach that locals use. Small thing, but it made a difference. Check-in was smooth, no standing around for ages while they figure out their system, and they were upfront about everything – ferry schedules, where to book whale watching that isn’t a tourist trap, that sort of practical stuff you actually need to know. Sure, it’s a 3-star place so don’t expect marble bathrooms or 24-hour room service, but everything works properly and feels clean and maintained. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially when you’re spending most of your time exploring Fraser Island or out on the water anyway.

Discover luxury resort villages that offer the perfect blend of intimate community atmosphere and world-class amenities, providing guests with unforgettable vacation experiences in stunning natural settings.

Pet friendly, comfortable bed, clean, friendly staff, a bit cramped, we were located right near amenities block but it wasn’t a problem. Quite a bit far from the beach. What could be improved: The shower pressure and temperature was erratic. Initially our TV in the cabin only received 1 channel and we asked to have it replaced, which was done. Air...

Hosts were easy to communicate with, out of hour instructions were easy to follow. Easy walk to the esplanade, good value for what our family needed (traveling for a sporting event). Had all the basics we needed for our stay.

Staff exceptional, friendly and helpful. Quieter campsite, well run and managed. Location good and short walk to beach. What could be improved: Nothing I did not like. If I had to be picky, some units did not have cooking facilities. Other ones could have had better cookware and a few bowls would have helped. There's a fully functional kitchen on...

What could be improved: Nothing I did not like. If I had to be picky, some units did not have cooking facilities. Other ones could have had better cookware and a few bowls would have helped. There's a fully functional kitchen on site but with a full camp you will have to wait.

Great cooking facilities. Beautiful park, well maintained. Friendly staff. Pool needs more attention and more activities /play area for kid's would be a bonus.

What could be improved: Nothing. Maybe more activities for kids.
