The park’s position on Dungula Way puts you about ten minutes from the main strip, which is perfect – close enough to grab supplies or hit up the RSL for a counter meal, far enough that you’re not dealing with day-tripper traffic. I noticed families really take to this place, especially during school holidays when the pool area becomes pretty lively, but even then it never felt chaotic. The staff seem to know how to keep things running smoothly without being heavy-handed about rules – you know what I mean, that balance between keeping order and letting people actually relax. If you’re thinking about timing, shoulder seasons are brilliant here. March and April particularly, when the river’s still warm enough for a swim but the crowds have thinned out. That 8.8 rating?
