Reflections Massy Greene – Holiday Park

HOTEL OVERVIEW

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Reflections Massy Greene on Tweed Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a “holiday park.” But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked right in Brunswick Heads, which if you haven’t been, is this laid-back coastal town that feels like Byron Bay’s chill younger sibling – all the charm without the crowds trying to find themselves through overpriced smoothie bowls.

The thing about this spot is it gets the balance right between being a proper accommodation and keeping that relaxed holiday park vibe. I mean, sure, it’s not going to be mistaken for some fancy resort, but honestly that’s part of its appeal. The grounds are well-maintained without feeling overly manicured, and there’s this genuine community feel you get when you’re walking around in the evenings. Kids riding bikes, families having barbecues – it actually feels like people are on holiday rather than performing vacation for Instagram. The location is pretty brilliant too, because you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the Brunswick River, and the beach is close enough that you can hear the ocean at night if you open your windows. Parking’s easy (which, let’s face it, matters more than anyone wants to admit), and the staff during check-in were the kind of helpful that feels genuine rather than scripted.

What really won me over was the practical stuff that makes a stay actually comfortable. The cabins – well, they’re clean and thoughtfully set up, with enough space that you don’t feel like you’re living in each other’s pockets. There’s proper kitchen facilities, which is brilliant because Brunswick Heads has this fantastic little farmers market on Thursdays, and you’ll want to cook some of that local produce. The amenities work as advertised (decent water pressure, reliable wifi when you need it), and honestly the whole place just feels well-run without being uptight about it. I stayed during a busy weekend in summer and yeah, it gets lively, but not in an obnoxious way – more like that pleasant hum of people actually enjoying themselves. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between camping and a hotel, where you get proper amenities but still feel connected to the coast and community, this place delivers. Plus, at an 8.7 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks they’re doing something right here.

What could be improved: The campers in the site next to our bungalow placed their chairs right next to our bedroom window, as there was a privacy hedge, I don't think they realized it was right next to the bedroom window. Likewise, the adjacent campsite faced their entire living area right in front of the lounge window of our bungalow, forcing us to keep the blind closed, for their privacy and ours.
