The cabins themselves are… well, they’re clean and functional, which is honestly all I need when I’m spending most of my time outside anyway. Some are definitely newer than others – if you’re booking, maybe ask about the ones further from the main road because there can be a bit of early morning traffic noise. Check-in was super straightforward, no drama, and the staff actually knew their stuff when I asked about the best spots for fishing along the coast. What really sold me on this place was how it strikes that balance between having enough facilities to keep everyone happy (the camp kitchen is actually well-equipped if you’re in a tent site) but not being so overdeveloped that it feels like a resort. You get families, sure, but also older couples in their vans and even some international backpackers – it’s got this nice mix that keeps things interesting.

During summer you’ll want to book way ahead because Ocean Grove gets absolutely packed, but if you can swing a visit in late autumn or early spring, honestly that’s when this place really shines. The weather’s still decent, the beach is practically empty, and you can actually get a decent coffee in town without queuing for twenty minutes.
