The parking situation is actually decent – there’s proper space for your car, which anyone who’s tried to park near Skegness seafront in July will appreciate. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward hovering around a tiny reception desk you get at some places.

The rooms themselves are where this place really shows its character. I mean, they’ve clearly put thought into every detail without going overboard with it. The bed was properly comfortable (not too soft, not like sleeping on a board), and there’s this attention to lighting that you don’t usually get – actual reading lights that work, bedside outlets where you need them, that sort of thing. They source quite a bit locally, which you can actually taste. I had a chat with one of the staff about the area, and they genuinely knew their stuff about what’s worth doing beyond the obvious tourist traps. Turns out there are some decent walking routes inland that most visitors never hear about.
