Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to NG Phaselis Bay – I mean, Kemer’s got so many big resort complexes that they sort of blur together from the outside. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The moment you walk through those doors, there’s this immediate sense that someone put real thought into the details here. The lobby doesn’t hit you with that overwhelming marble-and-gold thing so many Turkish five-stars go for; instead, it feels elegant but somehow still relaxed, if that makes sense.
What really won me over was the location – and I don’t just mean “oh, it’s near the beach” (though it definitely is). You’re tucked into this gorgeous spot in Göynük where you get these incredible mountain views behind you and the Mediterranean stretching out in front. The best part? You’re close enough to Kemer’s main strip that you can easily walk into town for dinner or hit up those little shops along Atatürk Bulvarı, but far enough away that you don’t get the late-night noise from the bars. Actually, the whole Göynük area feels more authentically Turkish than some of the touristy parts – you’ll see local families at the nearby beaches on weekends, which I always take as a good sign.
The staff here genuinely seems to care, which isn’t something I say lightly after staying at probably dozens of Turkish resorts over the years. Check-in was smooth (they had my room ready even though I arrived early), and throughout my stay, people remembered my name and actually seemed interested in making sure I was having a good time. The food surprised me too – yes, it’s buffet-style for most meals, but they’re clearly using quality ingredients and the Turkish dishes especially were spot-on. You know what really impressed me? They had fresh fish every night that actually tasted like it came from the Mediterranean that morning, not like it had been frozen for months. The pools are well-maintained without that overwhelming chlorine smell, and there are enough quiet spots that you can find your own little corner even during busy periods. Parking was no issue at all, by the way – they’ve got plenty of space and it’s all covered. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the Wi-Fi in some rooms can be a bit spotty, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise when you’re trying to actually relax. This place earned that 9.3 rating – it’s the kind of spot where you’ll find yourself already planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.
