Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to NG Afyon Wellness & Convention – I mean, it’s right on the Izmir-Ankara highway about seven kilometers out from Afyon center, so I figured it might be one of those sterile business hotels. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in all the right ways.
The thing about Afyon is that most people just drive through on their way between Istanbul and Cappadocia, but if you’re smart enough to stop here, this hotel gives you a real reason to linger. The wellness facilities are genuinely impressive – not just some tiny spa tucked in a basement, but proper thermal facilities that actually make use of the region’s natural hot springs. I spent way too much time in their thermal pools, and honestly, after driving Turkish highways for hours, that’s exactly what you need. The convention center part might sound boring, but it actually means the public spaces are huge and never feel cramped, even when they’re busy. Plus, the lobby has this modern but warm feel – lots of natural stone and wood that doesn’t scream “chain hotel.”
What really sold me on the place was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually staying somewhere. The parking is ample and free (trust me, this matters in Turkey), the rooms are properly soundproofed despite being on a major road, and the air conditioning actually works efficiently – something you can’t take for granted in central Anatolia’s extreme temperatures. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well too. When I asked about visiting the nearby Phrygian Valley ruins, the concierge didn’t just hand me a generic brochure but actually sketched out a route that avoided the tour bus crowds. The breakfast spread leans heavily Turkish, which I appreciate – proper menemen, fresh bread, local cheeses, though they do the international stuff well too if that’s your thing. I’ll be honest, the location means you’ll need a car or taxi to explore Afyon’s old town with its famous castle and ottoman houses, but the trade-off is you get this calm, almost resort-like atmosphere that’s hard to find in city center hotels. For the price point and that 8.8 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises – a proper base for exploring this underrated part of Turkey, with enough comfort and amenities that you might just decide to skip a day of sightseeing and enjoy the wellness facilities instead.

Завтрак отличный, разнообразный. Отель большой, чисто, красиво, уютно. Хорошее обслуживание номеров, В номере есть чайник, чай и кофе. По 2 бутылки воды приносят ежедневно. Много разнообразных бассейнов, баня, сауна и прочие спа удовольствия. Было очень мало времени насладиться к сожалению.
