Lomond Woods Holiday Park
First Impressions
When I first pulled into Lomond Woods Holiday Park, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what I thought would be a typical holiday park. But you know what? This five-star property completely changed my perspective on what a nature-based getaway could be. Set along Old Luss Road in Balloch, it’s tucked into this gorgeous woodland setting that immediately makes you forget you’re just minutes from Loch Lomond’s bustling tourist areas. The free parking right on-site was a relief — no hunting around for spaces or worrying about fees.
The Natural Setting
The location here is actually spectacular, and I mean that without any exaggeration. You’re literally surrounded by mature trees and rolling Scottish countryside, but still close enough to everything that matters. Couples seem to absolutely love it here — and I can see why, especially if you’re looking for that romantic woodland escape vibe. The park sits in this sweet spot where you get proper nature immersion without feeling completely cut off from civilization. I spent hours just walking the grounds, and there’s something really peaceful about hearing birdsong instead of traffic noise.
Accommodations and Comfort
The accommodations surprised me with their quality — this isn’t your basic holiday park setup at all. Each unit feels thoughtfully designed, and my room had these lovely woodland views that made morning coffee feel like a proper ritual. The interiors strike this nice balance between modern comfort and that cozy cabin feeling you want when you’re staying somewhere like this. Everything was spotless, and honestly, the attention to detail reminded me more of a boutique hotel than a traditional holiday park.
What Makes It Special
What really sets this place apart is how they’ve managed to create this luxury experience while keeping that authentic connection to nature. The grounds are beautifully maintained — you can tell they really care about preserving the natural woodland character. I loved that you could step outside your door and immediately be on walking trails, but then easily drive five minutes to Balloch for shops or restaurant options along Loch Lomond. The staff genuinely seemed to understand that people come here to unwind, and they give you space to do exactly that.
Why Guests Love It
After spending time here, I completely understand why recent guests rate the location so highly. It’s that rare combination of accessibility and tranquility that’s actually hard to find. You’re close enough to explore the Trossachs and Loch Lomond properly, but when you come back in the evening, you’re retreating to this peaceful woodland sanctuary. The whole experience feels more like staying at a friend’s country estate than a commercial property — which, let’s be honest, is exactly what you want when you’re trying to escape city life for a few days.

We loved the layout in our cabin. Fully kitted out with every we could have needed for our stay. The place was bright and clean. The park is clearly very well maintained. Great location for exploring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Shops and restaurants a short distance away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to come back at the end of...
