The owners clearly put thought into making this more than just your typical seaside accommodation – I mean, you can tell they care about the details without trying to be fancy about it.

What really won me over was the character of the place. These aren’t your cookie-cutter hotel rooms, and that’s exactly the point. Each caravan has its own personality (some are definitely more spacious than others, fair warning), but they’re all done up with proper attention to comfort. The beds are actually decent – I’ve stayed in four-star places with worse mattresses, honestly. There’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t plaster fake star ratings everywhere but just focuses on doing things right. Parking’s easy, which anyone who’s driven around Skegness in summer will appreciate, and the check-in was refreshingly straightforward. No corporate script, just real people who know the area and aren’t shy about sharing recommendations.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to be near the action but not right in the thick of Skegness madness. You’re close enough to pop over to the pier and all that – maybe fifteen minutes by car – but Chapel Saint Leonards has this more relaxed vibe that I actually preferred after a day out. The beach here is less crowded, and there’s a proper fish and chips place just down the road that locals actually go to. Mornings are quiet enough that you can hear the sea from some of the caravans, which beats the usual traffic noise you get at most seaside places. I’ll be honest, it’s not luxury in the traditional sense – don’t expect room service or a spa – but there’s something authentic about staying somewhere that feels more like a well-thought-out home base than a generic hotel room. If you’re looking for somewhere with character that doesn’t cost a fortune and puts you right where you need to be for exploring this stretch of coast, this place gets it right.
