Kurrimine Beach Holiday Park

Kurrimine Beach Holiday Park Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled into Kurrimine Beach Holiday Park on Jacobs Road, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot. But you know what? Sometimes these unassuming places end up surprising you in the best way. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no pretentious lobby nonsense), and the staff actually seemed to know the area rather than just reading from a script. What really got me was how quiet it gets here in the evenings – I mean, you’re basically tucked away from the main tourist chaos, but still close enough that you can walk to the beach without breaking a sweat.
The thing about Kurrimine Beach that most people don’t realize until they’re here is that it’s got this laid-back, almost forgotten corner of Queensland vibe. The holiday park sits in this sweet spot where you’re not dealing with the crowds you’d get further north, but you’re still getting proper beach access and decent facilities. Honestly, the cabins are pretty solid for what you’re paying – nothing fancy, but clean and functional with that slightly weathered coastal feel that actually works. The powered sites are well-spaced too, which I appreciated since nobody wants to hear their neighbor’s morning routine through paper-thin walls. What I found really useful was how close everything is – the local shops, the boat ramp if you’re into fishing (and seriously, the fishing here is actually worth your time), and that little stretch of beach that gets surprisingly good at sunset.
The 7.9 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been here a few days. It’s not trying to be some luxury resort, and that’s exactly why it works. The pool area is decent for cooling off during those sticky afternoons, and there’s enough shade around the grounds that you can actually relax outside without feeling like you’re being slowly cooked. I will say the Wi-Fi can be a bit patchy – not terrible, but don’t expect to stream movies or anything. Parking is never an issue, which sounds boring but trust me, after dealing with some of the cramped places along the coast, you’ll appreciate being able to actually get in and out of your car door. The whole place has this unpretentious, family-friendly atmosphere where kids can run around safely and adults can decompress without feeling like they need to dress up for dinner. If you’re looking for somewhere to base yourself while exploring this part of the coast without spending a fortune or dealing with resort crowds, this place delivers exactly what it promises – no more, no less, and sometimes that’s precisely what you need.

Food was great. Facilities were great, it was busy because we went during the school holidays so the pool was busy at times and the water park is great! Kids had a blast. Would definitely go again. What could be improved: Not much internet coverage if you’re with Vodafone or TPG. In fact I had maybe a half an hour of coverage all weekend which was...

I wanted to give this place a higher score. When the kids saw it we drove an extra hour than planned to stay. The staff were lovely and the food was really delicious. Although the decor in restaurant looks like it's seen better days and the nets need to be taken down and given a good shake. The room too was clean well equipped. Really lovely. It...

we liked that it was a smaller park so it wasn’t overwhelming. the close proximity to everything was a bonus.
What could be improved: was some water damage to the roof. the aircon made the whole wall rattle.
