BIG4 Port Fairy Holiday Park
Look, I’ll be honest β when I first pulled up to BIG4 Port Fairy Holiday Park on the Princes Highway, I wasn’t expecting much. Holiday parks can be hit or miss, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s one of those spots where you can tell the owners genuinely care about what they’re doing, and after spending a few days there, I totally get why it’s earned that 4-star rating.
What really struck me was how they’ve managed to create this perfect balance between proper facilities and that relaxed coastal vibe Port Fairy is famous for. The grounds are honestly immaculate β I mean, you’ve got your standard cabin options, but they’re well-maintained and surprisingly spacious inside. The powered sites are generous too, which is a blessing if you’re traveling with a big rig or just want some breathing room from your neighbors. And speaking of neighbors, the crowd here tends to be pretty chill β families during school holidays (it gets busy then, fair warning), but also plenty of couples and even solo travelers who’ve discovered this little gem. The amenities block is probably the cleanest I’ve encountered at any holiday park β someone’s definitely keeping on top of things there.
But here’s what I really loved about staying here: you’re literally a stone’s throw from Port Fairy’s historic center, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling past your cabin at midnight. You can walk into town along the river path β takes maybe fifteen minutes if you’re not in a hurry β and suddenly you’re browsing those gorgeous bluestone buildings and grabbing coffee at one of the cafes on Sackville Street. The location means you can easily hit Griffiths Island for sunrise (seriously, do this), then come back for breakfast without feeling like you’re miles from civilization. I also appreciated that they’ve got a decent camp kitchen setup, because let’s be real β not everyone wants to eat out every meal, especially when Port Fairy’s restaurant prices can add up. The only minor gripe I had was that the Wi-Fi can be a bit patchy in some spots, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise when you’re trying to disconnect. Check-in was smooth, staff knew their stuff about local attractions, and parking was never an issue even during the Folk Festival weekend I happened to visit. For what you’re paying, especially considering you’re in one of Victoria’s most charming coastal towns, this place delivers solid value without any nasty surprises.
Each resort village provides a unique blend of privacy and community, where guests enjoy villa-style accommodations while having access to shared amenities and social experiences.

Easy to find. Staff helpful, as I did not know they had motel rooms. We were able to move to a cabin. Very quiet. Problem with Fridge fixed promptly. Plenty of soap, shampoo and conditioner. Everything worked. Table & chairs and couch. Good quality towels. Plenty of hot water. What could be improved: Tariff was a bit high. Not enough room for a...

The cabin we were in was a great spot for the 4 of us to stay in. It was roomy and bright with lots of windows. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved the games , pool , ping pong etc that was available . What could be improved: It is pretty difficult to drive in the cabin/camper area with many many children running around. Everything is squeezed...

Swimming pool as the weather was extremely wet and the pool was our go to solution What could be improved: Workmen at the very back of cabin making lots of noise cutting through cement but realising this would only improve the park in the future and would only be a short term problem . Thought it would have had more in the way of greenery eg...
