You know what? I’ve stayed at my fair share of Turkish resorts, and Delphin Deluxe in Okurcalar really caught me off guard – in the best way possible. When you first pull up to this place (and yeah, the taxi ride from Antalya takes about an hour, but honestly the coastal views make it fly by), it’s got that impressive lobby thing going on without being over-the-top flashy. The thing is, Okurcalar isn’t one of those crazy crowded resort towns like Side or Belek – it’s actually pretty chill, which I mean, some people love and others might find a bit quiet. But here’s the thing about this spot: you’re literally right on Alara beach, and I’m talking about that stretch where the sand is actually decent and the water stays clear even when it’s busy.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that balance between having enough going on and not feeling like a theme park. The pools – there are several, and the main one gets the perfect amount of sun in the afternoon – never felt overcrowded, even in July when we were there. The staff actually remembers your name after a day or two, which sounds small but makes a huge difference when you’re trying to relax. Food-wise, honestly, I was skeptical about the buffet situation (aren’t we all?), but they’ve got this thing where they do fresh grilled fish every evening right by the beach restaurant, and the Turkish breakfast spread is legitimately impressive. I mean, proper simit, fresh börek, not the sad hotel versions you sometimes get.

Here’s what sold me on the place though – the location on the Alara Tourism Center strip means you can actually walk to a few local spots if you want to escape the resort bubble for an evening. There’s this little family-run restaurant about ten minutes down the road that serves incredible pide, and the hotel concierge (ask for Mehmet, he knows everything) will point you toward the weekly market in town. The rooms are solid – we had a sea view on the fourth floor and could hear the waves at night, which was perfect for sleeping. Only minor complaint? The air conditioning can be a bit aggressive, but honestly, after spending days in 35-degree heat, I wasn’t complaining too much. Check-in was smooth, parking is free and actually convenient, and they’ve got that nice touch where they bring you cold towels and local lemonade when you arrive. If you’re looking for a proper Turkish coast experience without the chaos of the bigger resort towns, this place delivers.
