Country Apartments

Country Apartments Overview
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Country Apartments on Brisbane Street, I wasn’t expecting much – the name sounds pretty basic, right? But you know what, sometimes the places with the most straightforward names end up surprising you the most. This spot actually delivers way more than you’d think for Dubbo accommodation, and I mean that in the best possible way.
The thing about staying here is that you’re right in the thick of things without dealing with typical hotel chaos. Brisbane Street puts you walking distance from the CBD – I could easily stroll to grab coffee or hit up the shops without needing to drive everywhere (which, let’s be honest, is pretty rare in regional NSW). The apartments themselves feel more like someone’s well-appointed home than a sterile hotel room. I’m talking proper kitchens where you can actually cook a decent meal, not just those sad little bar fridges and kettles most places give you. The living spaces are generous too – you can spread out properly, which is clutch if you’re staying more than a night or traveling with family. What really got me was the attention to detail in the setup. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and they’ve thought through the practical things that matter. Good water pressure in the shower, decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t drop out every five minutes, and – this might sound small but it’s huge – proper blackout curtains so you can actually sleep in if you want to.
The location works brilliantly if you’re using Dubbo as a base to explore the region. You’re close enough to the Western Plains Zoo that you could walk there if you’re feeling energetic, but far enough from the main tourist drag that it stays pretty quiet at night. Parking was never an issue when I stayed, which is more than I can say for some places in town. The staff seem to actually care about the place too – not just going through the motions, but genuinely helpful when you need local recommendations or have questions about the area. I had someone give me spot-on advice about timing my zoo visit to avoid the crowds, which saved my entire day honestly. The 9.0 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s one of those places that just works well without trying too hard to impress you. No fancy lobby with marble everywhere, but everything functions exactly as it should, and the value for money is solid for what you get. If you’re planning to spend any real time in Dubbo, whether for business or checking out the region, this beats the generic chain hotels hands down.

This spacious apartment was a real treat, with comfortable furniture and a fully equipped kitchen. We spent just one night, but it would make a comfortable base for much longer. The location was perfect ... quiet and within easy walking distance of the riverside parklands. The apartment and grounds, including the pool and outdoor dining area, were...

Very clean, all rooms furnished well. Full kitchen & accessories. Had a very homely feel. Great location, minutes to shops & restaurants.
What could be improved: Only issue was noisy passers-by as the cottage was facing the main rd-no fault of the owners.
