Corrimal Beach Tourist Park
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Corrimal Beach Tourist Park on Lake Parade, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best spots are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you upfront. This place actually gets it right in ways that matter.
The location is what really sold me. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Corrimal Beach – and I mean the good part of the beach, not some rocky outcrop they try to pass off as waterfront access. The sand here is proper golden, and honestly, it’s one of those stretches where locals still outnumber the tourists most days. I could hear the waves from my cabin at night, which sounds cheesy but actually helped me sleep better than I have in months. The park sits right between the beach and the railway line, and while you might think the trains would be annoying, they’re pretty infrequent and somehow become part of the coastal soundtrack after a day or two.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know their stuff about the area. The woman at reception – I think her name was Margaret – didn’t just hand me a generic brochure but actually told me about the rock pools at the southern end of the beach and mentioned that the fish and chips place on Railway Street (about a five-minute walk) was way better than the touristy spot near the surf club. She was right, by the way. The facilities themselves are clean and well-maintained – nothing fancy, but the kind of place where everything works and you don’t have to worry about dodgy plumbing or sketchy WiFi. I stayed in one of their cabins and it had that slightly retro feel without being run-down, if that makes sense. Good air conditioning too, which you’ll definitely want if you’re visiting in summer.
The whole setup feels more like a proper Australian holiday park than some sanitized resort experience. There were families barbecuing in the evenings, kids riding bikes around the grounds, and that relaxed vibe where people actually talk to each other instead of just staring at their phones. I mean, don’t get me wrong – there’s still plenty of phone staring, but less than usual. The pool area gets busy around lunch time, but if you’re an early riser like me, you can pretty much have it to yourself with your morning coffee. Parking was never an issue, which is more than I can say for most places along this stretch of coast. During peak season you’d probably want to book ahead, but honestly, Corrimal doesn’t get quite as slammed as some of the beaches further north, so there’s usually something available if you’re flexible.
The best resort villages feature carefully designed properties that harmonize with their natural surroundings, offering guests authentic experiences combined with luxury amenities and exceptional hospitality.
