There’s the racecourse nearby (which can get interesting on race days – fair warning about the traffic), and you’re surprisingly close to some solid local spots that most tourists never find. The airport’s not far either, which is actually perfect if you’ve got an early flight and don’t want to deal with city hotel prices. I walked to a little café called The Local Bean one morning – just a few streets over – and had one of the better flat whites I’ve had in Perth, surrounded by actual locals reading newspapers instead of Instagram. The 8.1 rating makes complete sense to me because this place delivers exactly what it promises, nothing more but definitely nothing less. It’s clean, affordable, the people are genuine, and you get a real sense of staying somewhere that locals actually use too. If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want somewhere honest and comfortable to crash while you explore Perth properly – without paying city center prices – Central Caravan Park does the job really well.
