Blissfull Holidays Lodge 1

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what caught me off guard about Blissful Holidays Lodge 1? I was expecting some basic holiday park accommodation when I pulled up on Foryd Rd, but this place actually has serious character. It’s tucked right into Golden Sands Holiday Park, which honestly sounds a bit commercial until you realize you’re basically steps from Kinmel Bay beach – and I mean the good stretch where locals walk their dogs in the morning, not the touristy bit.
The lodge itself feels like someone took a traditional holiday cabin and gave it a proper boutique makeover without losing the cozy factor. They don’t bother with official star ratings, which actually makes sense because it doesn’t fit into those cookie-cutter categories anyway. The interior has this warm, lived-in quality that’s hard to fake – think exposed beams but with really thoughtful lighting, and furniture that’s clearly been chosen by someone who cares rather than bulk-ordered from some hotel supplier. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that corporate rigmarole. Parking’s right there, which might sound basic but you’ll appreciate it when you’re hauling beach gear or groceries from the Tesco down the road.
What really makes this place work is the location – you’re close enough to Rhyl if you want the funfair madness and fish and chips on the seafront, but Kinmel Bay itself stays pretty quiet. I actually loved hearing the waves at night with the windows cracked open, and mornings here are genuinely peaceful. The holiday park setting means you’ve got families around during peak season (obviously), but it never felt chaotic or noisy. There’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone – it knows it’s a boutique spot in a family-friendly park, and it leans into that instead of fighting it. The attention to detail shows in weird ways too, like actually decent coffee equipment and proper blackout curtains that work. Small things, but they add up when you’re trying to relax. If you’re looking for that perfect balance between comfortable and characterful, especially somewhere you can properly unwind without feeling like you’re in a corporate hotel bubble, this place hits the mark in a way that’s honestly pretty rare along this stretch of the Welsh coast.
