Birubi Beach Holiday Park
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Birubi Beach Holiday Park when I first pulled up on James Paterson Street – I mean, it’s a holiday park, right? But honestly, this place really surprised me. The moment you walk in, there’s this laid-back coastal vibe that just hits different. It’s not trying to be fancy (it’s a solid 3-star spot), but there’s something genuinely welcoming about it that makes you want to kick off your shoes and actually relax.
The location is actually pretty brilliant – you’re literally minutes from those massive sand dunes that Anna Bay is famous for, and I swear you can smell the salt air from your cabin. The park sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the ocean on quiet nights, but far enough back that you don’t get the crowds trampling through your space. What really got me was how the staff actually knew the area – when I asked about the best time to hit the dunes for sandboarding, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a brochure, he told me about the morning light and which companies his kids prefer. That kind of local knowledge you just can’t fake.
The cabins themselves are pretty straightforward – clean, functional, with that slightly weathered coastal feel that somehow works perfectly here. Sure, they’re not Instagram-perfect, but they’ve got everything you need, and honestly, you’re going to spend most of your time outside anyway. The park gets busy during school holidays (fair warning), but even then it maintains this relaxed family atmosphere where kids are running around with sandy feet and parents are actually talking to each other instead of staring at phones. Parking’s never an issue, check-in was refreshingly quick, and – this might sound weird – but the whole place just smells right, like eucalyptus and ocean breeze instead of that generic cleaning product smell you get at chain hotels. With an 8.0 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not about luxury here; it’s about being in one of Australia’s most beautiful coastal spots without the pretension or the price tag that usually comes with it.

Great location as it was close to the event we were attending

Although I had booked a 2 bedroom cabin for 2 people, the second bed wasn’t made up although there was
a spare sheet and blanket. With only the one blanket and a very thin quilt in the main bedroom we were cold during the night.

Had a small problem with gas staff, went about rectifying the problem as quick as they could, and were very apologetic about the situation , and the location, location, location

Donna and Sam were just brilliant throughout the booking and arrival check in process.
We had a large group and they did an amazing job in grouping everyone.
Very friendly and accommodating.

Probably would have liked warmer blankets due to winter.
Overall though very obliging in providing extras when asked.
