BIG4 Shepparton Park Lane Holiday Park
BIG4 Shepparton Park Lane Holiday Park Overview
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled into BIG4 Shepparton Park Lane – I mean, it’s right on the Goulburn Valley Highway, so you’d think road noise would be an issue. But you know what? Once you get settled in, the place actually has this surprisingly peaceful vibe going on. The grounds are way more spacious than they look from the road, with these massive old gums scattered around that give everything a proper Australian camping feel, even though you’re basically staying in town.
What really won me over was how well they’ve balanced the whole family holiday park thing without making it feel like total chaos. Sure, there’s a pool area where kids are splashing around during the day, but it’s not one of those places where you can’t escape the noise if you want some quiet time. The cabin I stayed in was actually pretty well soundproofed – I could barely hear the highway once I was inside, which was a pleasant surprise. The kitchen setup was better than expected too, with a proper-sized fridge and enough bench space that you don’t feel like you’re cooking in a shoebox. I noticed they’ve clearly put some money into upgrades recently because everything felt fresh and clean, not that worn-down holiday park vibe you sometimes get.
The location is honestly pretty clever when you think about it. You’re close enough to Shepparton’s main drag that grabbing supplies or heading out for dinner doesn’t require a major expedition, but far enough out that you feel like you’ve escaped the town bustle. If you’re into the whole Goulburn Valley wine scene, you’re perfectly positioned for day trips – I did a loop through Nagambie and Tahbilk one afternoon and was back for a barbecue dinner without any drama. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly complicated process some places put you through. The staff actually seemed to know the area well when I asked about local spots, which is rarer than it should be these days. My only minor gripe would be that the Wi-Fi gets a bit patchy in some of the cabins further from reception, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise if you’re trying to properly switch off. For a 4-star holiday park, it delivers on that rating without feeling pretentious about it.

we booked a studio cabin and a budget cabin for 3 kids, 2 adults and a dog. Everything was clean with no pet smells. It was easy to book and very friendly, helpful staff. The beds were really comfy. The price can’t be beat, great VFM!

Great location and good facilities for the kids.
