First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Yosemite Lakes Meadow Yurt 15, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect — I mean, how many times do you get to stay in an actual yurt? But this four-star spot on Hardin Flat Road completely changed my perspective on glamping. The circular structure sits perfectly in this meadow setting, and you know what struck me most? The complete silence, broken only by the occasional bird call or rustle of wind through the trees. The location offers an exceptional retreat for those seeking an authentic connection with nature.
The Yurt Experience
Inside, the room feels surprisingly spacious with its domed ceiling and thoughtful layout. The furnishings strike that perfect balance between rustic charm and actual comfort — we’re talking real beds, not camping cots. There’s something almost magical about the way natural light filters through during the day, and at night, well, you can actually see stars through the skylight. The heating works great too, which I was secretly worried about before arriving. Every detail has been carefully considered for guest comfort.
Location and Surroundings
What makes this place special is really its position in the Yosemite area without being right in the chaos of the main park. You’re close enough to easily access the famous spots, but far enough away that you get this genuine sense of being immersed in nature. Couples seem to particularly love it here — and I can see why. There’s something inherently romantic about having your own private meadow space, especially when you step outside in the morning with your coffee and take in the mountain views. The surrounding landscape provides endless opportunities for exploration and relaxation.
Practical Considerations
The parking situation is straightforward — you can pull right up to your yurt, which makes unloading gear pretty easy. I’d recommend bringing some of your own snacks and drinks since you’re not exactly walking distance to a corner store, but that’s part of the charm. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and honestly, after spending time in actual campgrounds, the amenities here feel downright civilized. Just pack layers because mountain weather can be unpredictable, even in warmer months. The thoughtful setup ensures a seamless arrival and departure experience.
Why Guests Love It
This place delivers on that increasingly rare promise of actually disconnecting from everything. Recent guests consistently praise the location, and after staying here, I totally get it. It’s not about fancy amenities or room service — it’s about waking up surrounded by meadow grass and having your morning coffee while listening to absolutely nothing but nature. The yurt itself becomes part of the adventure rather than just a place to sleep, and for couples especially, there’s something undeniably special about sharing this kind of unique experience together in such a peaceful setting. It’s a destination that truly rejuvenates the spirit.
Holiday resort villages blend thatched-roof villas, all-day dining, and gardens that open straight onto the sand.

Paris
the yurt was such a cool and unique experience. I thought it would be more primitive but it’s just like staying in a cabin! with a little less installation but the fire does keep you warm! the gates to the park are super close and the general shop workers are so sweet and helpful. I will definitely be back!
