Surf Beach Holiday Park
You know what surprised me about Surf Beach Holiday Park? It’s actually one of those places that manages to feel both properly beachy and surprisingly refined at the same time. I mean, when you hear “holiday park,” you might picture something a bit rough around the edges, but this place on Bourrool Street has clearly put some serious thought into the details. The moment you walk in, there’s this laid-back coastal vibe that doesn’t try too hard – which honestly feels pretty authentic for Kiama.
The location is what really makes it work, though. You’re literally a stone’s throw from Surf Beach (hence the name), and I’m talking like a two-minute stroll to the sand. But here’s the thing locals know – Surf Beach is actually one of the quieter stretches compared to the main Kiama beach near the blowhole, so you get that proper beach holiday feel without fighting crowds for a decent spot. The sound of waves is constant but not overwhelming, and there’s something really soothing about falling asleep to that rhythm. The accommodation itself feels more like a well-thought-out resort than your typical holiday park setup. I was expecting basic cabins, but the facilities are genuinely comfortable – proper kitchens, decent-sized bathrooms, and beds that don’t feel like they came from a camping store. The grounds are kept really well too, with these nice pathways and enough space between units that you’re not listening to your neighbors’ conversations all night.
What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to cater to families without making it feel like a kids-only zone. Sure, there’s plenty for children to do, but the layout means you can find quieter corners if that’s more your speed. The staff seem to actually know the area – when I asked about good walking spots beyond the obvious tourist tracks, they pointed me toward some coastal paths I definitely wouldn’t have found on my own. Parking is straightforward (which matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling beach gear around), and check-in was refreshingly efficient. I did notice it gets pretty busy during school holidays, so if you’re after that peaceful beach escape, maybe aim for shoulder season. The 9.1 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises, and sometimes that’s worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to properly unwind.

The cabin was clean and well presented. The parks amenities were clean, well maintained and staff were accommodating and friendly. The pool and common areas of the park had a great vibe, as well as other patrons being very friendly and up for a chat.
