Wheal Rodney Holiday Park
First Impressions
Honestly, Wheal Rodney Holiday Park caught me off guard in the best possible way. You pull up this winding lane in Marazion expecting your typical holiday park, but what you get is something that feels more like a peaceful retreat tucked into the Cornish countryside. The four-star rating makes sense once you’re here β there’s this attention to detail that sets it apart from the usual caravan sites you’ll find dotted around Cornwall. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel the difference in how things are managed and maintained.
Location Magic
The location is honestly what makes this place special, and I can see why couples rate it so highly. You’re literally minutes from St Michael’s Mount β I mean, you can walk there when the tide’s right, which is pretty incredible. Marazion Beach stretches out below, and on clear mornings you’ll catch those golden hour shots that make your Instagram followers properly jealous. What I love is how it feels remote enough to be peaceful, but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere if you need supplies or fancy a proper meal out. The coastal views are absolutely breathtaking throughout the day.
The Accommodation
The holiday homes and pitches here are well-maintained, which isn’t always a given at these places. Each apartment or caravan feels like someone actually cares about your stay β clean, comfortable, and with those little touches that matter. The kitchen setups are properly equipped too, not just the bare minimum you sometimes get. Free parking right on site is brilliant, especially during summer when finding a spot anywhere near the coast becomes a proper nightmare. You’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stay without any hassle.
What Sets It Apart
You know what really impressed me? The peace and quiet. Despite being a holiday park, it never felt chaotic or overcrowded. There’s this lovely balance where families can enjoy themselves without it turning into a free-for-all. The grounds are well-kept, and there’s enough space that you’re not practically sitting in your neighbor’s lap. The views across Mount’s Bay are genuinely stunning β especially at sunset when the light hits St Michael’s Mount just right. It’s these thoughtful details that make the difference.
Why Guests Love It
After staying here, I totally get why recent guests rate the location so highly. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re properly away from everything, but civilization is still within reach when you need it. The combination of being walking distance from one of Cornwall’s most iconic landmarks, having decent facilities, and maintaining that peaceful atmosphere is actually quite rare. Plus, the staff seem to genuinely care about making sure your stay works out well, which makes all the difference when you’re trying to properly unwind. This room for relaxation is what keeps visitors coming back year after year.

Derek
The accommodation was well equipped with everything you need. It was clean and warm (we visited in winter). The pool was the main reason we choose this location and it was great. Nice and warm though the changing rooms were a bit nippy. The staff were very helpful including getting us an electric hookup so we could charge our car.
