Werri Beach Holiday Park

Werri Beach Holiday Park Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Werri Beach Holiday Park? It’s actually got this laid-back, unpretentious vibe that feels authentically Australian coastal – not like those glossy resorts that could be anywhere in the world. When you first pull up on Bridges Road, it honestly looks pretty unassuming, maybe even a bit dated if I’m being honest, but that’s kind of the point. This isn’t trying to be fancy, and once you settle in, you realize that’s exactly what makes it work.
The location is genuinely brilliant – I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Werri Beach, which locals will tell you is one of the better surf breaks around Gerringong without the crazy crowds you get at some of the more famous spots. The park itself sits up slightly from the water, so you get these glimpses of ocean through the trees, and there’s this constant sound of waves that becomes sort of meditative after a day or two. The cabins (well, the ones I’ve stayed in) are pretty basic but clean – think functional rather than Instagram-worthy. You’ll have everything you need, though the kitchenettes are small enough that you’re probably better off doing simple meals or just heading into Gerringong proper for dinner.
What I really appreciate is how the staff actually seem to know the area – they’ll point you toward the quieter beach access points or mention when the fish and chips place in town closes early on Sundays. The whole setup feels designed for people who want to spend their time outside anyway, which makes sense given you’re surrounded by some genuinely beautiful coastline. Parking’s never been an issue when I’ve been there, and check-in is refreshingly straightforward – no lengthy presentations about amenities you’ll never use. The grounds get a bit busy during school holidays (fair warning if you’re looking for total peace and quiet), but even then it maintains this relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere rather than turning into chaos. It’s the kind of place where kids ride bikes around while their parents have a proper conversation over coffee, and somehow everyone just gets along. For what you pay, especially considering you’re this close to both beautiful beaches and the charming little town of Gerringong with its cafes and weekend markets, it’s honestly hard to complain.

Beautiful clean cabin and friendly staff. The weather was wet and cold but we were cosy and warm in our accommodation!

The location of this park is perfect. Our cabin was directly across the road from the beach, next to the bowls club and a short drive to restaurants and shops. We travelled to quite a few places on our trip from QLD and this one was our favourite. The cabin also had a washing machine and dryer, with a full kitchen and bbq area which was perfect...

Superb location. You can hear the waves all day/night. Very clean cabin. Great Caesar salad at the Gerringong Bowlo next door.
What could be improved: The cabin was a little bit worn out for the price I paid but the location made up for it
