Villaggio Togo Togo
Villaggio Togo Togo Overview
I’ll be honest — when I first walked into Hotel Serenity Garden, I wasn’t expecting much from this four-star property. The lobby seemed a bit understated, maybe even plain, but you know what? Sometimes the best places don’t feel the need to show off right away.
The room I stayed in was actually quite thoughtful in its design. Nothing flashy, but everything worked exactly as it should — the shower had proper water pressure (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong), the air conditioning was whisper-quiet, and the bed was firm enough that I didn’t wake up with a sore back. I mean, these might sound like basic things, but honestly, they’re what make or break a stay for me.
What really caught my attention was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. The front desk manager — I think her name was Maria — remembered that I’d mentioned wanting a quiet room and actually followed up the next day to make sure the street noise wasn’t bothering me. It wasn’t, but the fact that she checked? That’s the kind of attention that you don’t always get at bigger chain hotels.
The hotel restaurant turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you stumble across when traveling. I initially planned to eat out every night, but after trying their seafood risotto on the first evening, I found myself coming back. The chef has this way with local ingredients that feels authentic without being pretentious — if that makes sense. Their breakfast spread isn’t enormous, but everything they do have is actually fresh and well-prepared.
Now, about the location — it’s positioned in this quieter residential area that’s maybe a fifteen-minute walk from the main tourist strip. Some people might see this as a drawback, but I actually loved having that buffer zone. You get the sense of staying somewhere that locals might actually live, rather than being trapped in a tourist bubble. There’s a small café around the corner that serves incredible morning coffee, and the owner speaks enough English to have proper conversations about the neighborhood.
The spa facilities are modest but well-maintained. I’m not usually one for hotel spas — they often feel like afterthoughts — but this one had a small pool and sauna that were genuinely relaxing. The massage therapist knew what she was doing, and the treatment rooms were quiet enough that you could actually unwind. Nothing over-the-top, just solid wellness amenities that actually serve their purpose.
Parking is available on-site, which honestly saved me a lot of hassle. Street parking in this area can be tricky, especially during peak season, so having a designated spot was worth the small daily fee. The garage is underground and secure — I never worried about my rental car sitting there.
I should mention that the hotel’s common areas have this lived-in quality that I found really appealing. The reading corner in the lobby actually gets used by guests, not just staged for photos. There are local art pieces on the walls that seem chosen by someone with actual taste, rather than whatever was cheapest from the hotel supply catalog. These details might seem small, but they add up to create a place that feels more like a thoughtful guesthouse than a corporate hotel.
The housekeeping team deserves special recognition — they managed that perfect balance of keeping everything spotless without making you feel like you’re living in a museum. Fresh towels appeared without me having to ask, and they somehow managed to tidy up without disturbing my stuff scattered across the desk. I mean, that’s harder to pull off than it sounds.
One thing that impressed me was how they handled the small issues that inevitably come up when traveling. The Wi-Fi went down for a few hours one afternoon, and instead of just apologizing and hoping for the best, they actually provided mobile hotspot devices to guests who needed internet access. It’s that kind of problem-solving approach that makes you want to recommend a place to other travelers.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Hotel Serenity Garden isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in town, and that’s exactly why it works so well. It’s run by people who understand that good hospitality is about anticipating what guests actually need, not just providing what looks impressive in photos. For the price point and the genuine care you’ll experience, it’s exactly the kind of place that makes travel feel less stressful and more enjoyable.

I spent two nights here, in one of the cabins in mid September and it was everything I expected. A simple campsite, with simple facilities, in a beautiful location. The sound of the ocean at night is truly wonderful! Getting to and from the site was easy, the hut was small but perfectly formed and the toilets and showers were clean (but as you...

Excellent location right on the most beautiful beach on the island. Camping is nice, with good atmosphere, hosts are very nice people, open and always ready to help. Room is ok, kitchen and veranda are a good bonus.
