You know what? I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Brett Drive looking for Tina’s caravan hire, I wasn’t entirely sure what I’d gotten myself into. Chapel Saint Leonards isn’t exactly the first place that comes to mind when you think “boutique accommodation,” but that’s sort of the point, isn’t it? This whole setup is wonderfully unpretentious in a way that actually works. Tina (yes, there’s actually a Tina, and she’s brilliant) has transformed what could’ve been just another static caravan site into something genuinely special. The caravans themselves are proper cozy – I mean, you’re not getting marble bathrooms here, but everything’s clean and thoughtfully arranged. Mine had this tiny kitchen that somehow fit everything I needed, and honestly, making morning tea while looking out over the Lincolnshire coast felt more authentic than room service ever does.

What really got me was how Tina’s managed to create this little community feel without it being forced or cheesy. The other guests were mostly families and couples who’d clearly discovered this place through word of mouth rather than flashy advertising – there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t try too hard to impress you. Chapel Saint Leonards itself is one of those proper seaside towns that hasn’t been completely sanitized for tourists yet. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the beach, and I’d spend evenings wandering down to watch the sunset over The Wash. The local fish and chip shop (you’ll find it easily enough) does these massive portions that’ll keep you going all day, and there’s a decent pub within walking distance if you fancy a pint without driving.

Look, I won’t pretend this is luxury accommodation – the shower pressure could be better, and you’ll hear your neighbors if they’re having a loud conversation late at night. But there’s something genuinely charming about the whole experience that’s hard to find these days. Tina clearly cares about her guests; she’ll give you proper local recommendations (not just the touristy stuff) and seems to remember everyone who stays. The pricing is fair for what you get, especially considering how close you are to the coast. I’d definitely come back, probably in late spring when the crowds haven’t descended yet but the weather’s starting to turn. If you’re looking for something different from the usual hotel chain experience and don’t mind a bit of seaside simplicity, this place delivers exactly what it promises – no more, no less, and that’s perfectly fine by me.
