The location is actually brilliant — you’re close enough to Hastings’ historic Old Town and that famous battlefield site, but far enough removed to feel like you’re in your own peaceful bubble. I mean, Combe Haven Holiday Park is right there, so you get this lovely sense of being surrounded by nature without sacrificing accessibility. What couples seem to love most (and I can see why, given that 9.2 rating from recent guests) is how you can easily walk to the coast but return to somewhere that feels genuinely tranquil. The area has this perfect balance of countryside charm and seaside convenience that’s hard to find elsewhere along the south coast.

The Accommodation

My room was surprisingly spacious and thoughtfully designed — nothing overly fancy, but everything you actually need for a comfortable stay. The furnishings feel contemporary without being cold, and there’s plenty of natural light streaming in during the day. What I particularly appreciated was how quiet everything was; you’d think being near a holiday park might mean noise, but it’s actually the opposite. The beds are properly comfortable (not those rock-hard hotel mattresses you sometimes encounter), and the bathroom was well-appointed with decent water pressure — small details that matter when you’re unwinding after exploring the local area.

While there isn’t an elaborate restaurant setup, what they do offer works perfectly for the vibe they’re going for. The breakfast options are solid and fresh, nothing too elaborate but definitely satisfying before heading out for the day. I found myself spending quite a bit of time in the common areas, which have this relaxed, almost residential feel — like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place rather than a traditional hotel.
