First Impressions
When I first pulled into Swift holidays at Combe Haven Holiday Park, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from what sounded like a typical holiday park. But this four-star property in Hastings completely changed my perspective on what a holiday park could be. The setting is genuinely stunning, perched between rolling countryside and the dramatic coastline of East Sussex. You know what struck me most? The sheer space of it all — 100 acres of grounds that somehow manage to feel both well-organized and refreshingly natural.
Location and Surroundings
The location here is honestly exceptional, and I can see why couples rate it so highly (apparently 9.4 out of 10 for romantic getaways). You’re literally minutes from Hastings’ historic Old Town with its quirky shops and excellent seafood restaurants, but the park itself feels like a peaceful retreat. The parking situation is brilliant — completely free and right outside your accommodation, which is actually a big deal when you’re hauling luggage and supplies for a proper getaway. I mean, you can walk to the beach in about ten minutes, but you’re also surrounded by the kind of countryside that makes you want to just sit outside with a cup of tea and watch the world go by.
Accommodation Experience
The accommodations vary quite a bit, but I stayed in one of their newer static caravans and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Each unit comes with a proper kitchen that’s actually functional — not just a token kitchenette — which means you can cook real meals if you want to save money or just fancy a quiet night in. The room layouts are cleverly designed to maximize space, and honestly, the beds are more comfortable than some hotels I’ve stayed in. What really impressed me was how well-maintained everything felt, from the fixtures to the outdoor decking areas where you can sit and enjoy the surprisingly peaceful atmosphere.
Facilities and Activities
This is where Combe Haven really shines — there’s genuinely something for everyone without feeling overwhelming. The indoor swimming complex is fantastic, especially on those typical British days when the weather can’t make up its mind. There’s also an adventure playground that’s actually well-designed (not just an afterthought), and the evening entertainment is surprisingly good quality. The on-site restaurant serves decent pub-style food, though I’d recommend exploring Hastings’ dining scene too — the fish and chips down in the Old Town are legendary, and there are some lovely gastropubs within easy reach.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place special is how it manages to balance convenience with that proper holiday feeling. You’ve got all the facilities you need on-site, but you’re not trapped in a resort bubble — the surrounding area is genuinely worth exploring. The staff seem to actually care about making your stay pleasant rather than just going through the motions, and the whole place has this relaxed vibe that makes it easy to unwind. It’s particularly brilliant for couples who want a mix of activities and relaxation, or families who need space to spread out without breaking the bank on multiple hotel rooms.

Needed an overnight stay to spend some time with my son . Cheaper and more convenient than a hotel without worrying about spending money on eating out . The beds were super comfy and the caravan was spotless. Would definitely stay here again . Thank you so much.

What a beautiful caravan! We loved every moment of our stay. It was clean, tastefully decorated to a high spec, and had everything we needed. We were visiting the area and only needed the caravan for sleeping, but we wished we had more time to enjoy the luxury of the facilities. The layout of the caravan was perfect and we will definitely book...

We just had a one night stop over. Was perfect for what we needed, even had tea ,coffee, sugar. Very close to everything. If you stayed deeper into the park, it can be quite an uphill walk to get to everything. Would come again

It's a really lovely little holiday home - clean, well decorated and clearly cared for, well equipped and really good location on the park. Communication was brilliant from the host. We will definitely be looking to book again in the future.
