BIG4 Bendigo Park Lane Holiday Park
You know what struck me first about BIG4 Bendigo Park Lane? It’s actually not in Bendigo proper – you’re technically in Junortoun, which honestly works in your favor. The spot on McIvor Highway means you’re about ten minutes from Bendigo’s town center, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with traffic noise or that weird city hum that keeps you up at night.
I mean, this isn’t your typical cramped caravan park situation. The sites here are properly spacious – like, you can actually set up camp without your neighbor overhearing every conversation. The facilities are what you’d expect from a 4-star holiday park, but it’s the little things that make the difference. The camp kitchen is actually clean (shocking, I know), and there’s enough bench space that you’re not playing Tetris with your cooking gear. The playground keeps kids busy without being one of those screechy metal nightmares, and the pool area… well, it gets the job done, though it can get pretty packed during school holidays.
What really works about this place is how it balances being close to everything without feeling like you’re camping in someone’s backyard. You’ve got the Bendigo Pottery just down the road – worth a visit if you’re into that sort of thing – and you’re perfectly positioned for day trips to places like Castlemaine or even Daylesford if you don’t mind a bit of a drive. The staff here actually seem to know the area too, which is refreshing. They’ll point you toward the good op shops in town or tell you which bakery does the best pies (it’s Country Cob Bakery on Hargreaves Street, by the way).
The only real downside? Well, you’re still on a highway, so there’s some truck noise, especially early morning. Nothing terrible, but light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. And like most holiday parks, the Wi-Fi is… optimistic at best. But honestly, that might be a blessing depending on how you look at it. The whole setup feels more genuine than those resort-style places that try too hard – this is proper Australian holiday park vibes without the rundown facilities you sometimes get stuck with.
Travelers can book a resort that perfectly matches their vacation dreams, from beachfront properties to mountain retreats, ensuring every detail is crafted for maximum enjoyment and relaxation.

It was a great park to stay at.

A little more attention to cleaning. Was a tad dusty in some areas and cleaning in the corners of the bathroom would be good.

The kids had a ball in the play facility. Was a short stay but local to all activities was fantastic

Exceptionally comfortable beds - lovely living space, kitchen with everything you need. Premium sheets and lots of pillows (loved the pillow mist!!), lovely big rosette in shower, super clean, amazing range for kids to do and very close to the Rail Trail for a great run! Wish I had a whole week or more to really unwind and enjoy all this...
