HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what hit me first about Susesi Luxury Resort? The smell of jasmine mixed with that particular Mediterranean breeze you get right off the Turkish coast. I mean, you’re literally steps from the beach in Belek – and not just any beach, but this gorgeous stretch where the locals actually swim too, which honestly tells you everything you need to know about the water quality.
The resort sits right in İskele Mevkii, which if you’ve been to this part of Antalya before, you’ll know is prime real estate. You’re close enough to the Belek golf courses that you can practically hear the morning foursomes teeing off, but far enough from the main D400 highway that traffic noise isn’t a thing. Check-in was surprisingly smooth – none of that resort lobby chaos where you’re standing around with your luggage for twenty minutes. The staff actually remembers your name after day two, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re trying to relax.
What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve managed to feel authentically Turkish without going overboard on the tourist trap stuff. The breakfast spread includes proper Turkish tea (not the watered-down version you get at some places), and they’ve got this incredible börek that’s clearly made by someone who knows what they’re doing. The pools are positioned so you catch the morning sun but aren’t blazing hot by afternoon – someone clearly thought about the layout instead of just plopping everything down randomly. And here’s something I didn’t expect: the evening entertainment actually doesn’t blast music until midnight. You can sit on your balcony with a glass of wine and hear the waves, which in Turkey’s resort areas is rarer than you’d think. The grounds are expansive enough that it never feels crowded, even when they’re at capacity (which from what I could tell happens pretty regularly from June through September). Parking is included and actually convenient – not stuck in some back lot where you need a shuttle. The beach setup is solid too, with enough umbrellas and loungers that you’re not doing that awkward 6 AM towel reserve thing. It’s the kind of place where you can genuinely unwind without constantly thinking about logistics, and with an 8.7 rating, it seems like most people leave feeling the same way.
