HOTEL OVERVIEW
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first pulled up to Sunrise Resort Hotel in Kizilagac, I wasn’t expecting much. The area’s gotten pretty developed over the years, and honestly, some of these five-star places along the Turkish coast can feel a bit cookie-cutter. But this place actually surprised me in a good way. It’s tucked into this quieter stretch between Manavgat and Side, which means you’re not dealing with the absolute chaos of the main Antalya strip, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The resort sits right on that gorgeous stretch of beach where the sand’s actually soft (not rocky like some spots further east), and I mean, waking up to those Mediterranean sunrises – well, they named it right.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually care about the details. Check-in was smooth, no standing around for ages like at some of these bigger chains, and the front desk guy knew exactly which restaurants in nearby Side were worth the short drive versus the tourist traps. The rooms are spacious – I had one of the sea-view ones on the fourth floor, and you know what, the balcony was actually big enough to sit on with your morning coffee without feeling like you’re going to fall into your neighbor’s space. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in July heat), and the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel back-ache thing. Sure, the WiFi can get a bit spotty during peak hours when everyone’s uploading their vacation photos, but honestly, isn’t that kind of the point of being on vacation?
The pool area’s well-designed – they’ve got this infinity edge thing going that doesn’t feel too pretentious, and there are enough loungers that you’re not doing that awkward 6 AM towel-reservation dance. Food’s solid too, though I’d skip the main buffet dinner and head into Manavgat town for some proper Turkish food at least once. The resort’s Turkish night is actually pretty fun if you don’t mind a bit of tourist-friendly entertainment. Location-wise, you’re about twenty minutes from the ancient ruins at Side (totally worth it), and if you rent a car, Manavgat’s Thursday market is this incredible local experience where you can haggle for everything from spices to leather goods. The beach here stays relatively uncrowded even in summer since it’s not right in the main resort corridor, which honestly might be the best thing about this place. It’s got that five-star polish without feeling like you’re trapped in some resort bubble – you can actually experience a bit of real Turkey if you want to.

I would have given it 8 or even less if the facilities were just limited to Sunrise resort hotel but being able to avail everything at Starlight made it worth the price and even exceeded expectations.
There are a plethora of restaurants to enjoy from and the entertainment (called as animation in Turkish) events were amazing!
