HOTEL OVERVIEW
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Sentido Kamelya Selin – I mean, Colakli isn’t exactly the first place that comes to mind when you think luxury Turkish coast. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The resort sits right on that gorgeous stretch of beach between Side and Manavgat, and you know what? The location is kind of perfect because you get that pristine coastline without the absolute chaos of Side’s main tourist strip.
The property itself feels genuinely luxurious without being stuffy about it. When you walk through the lobby, there’s this subtle scent of jasmine that’s not overpowering (thank god, because some hotels really go overboard with that stuff), and the marble floors actually stay cool under your feet even during those brutal July afternoons. The spa – well, let’s just say they know what they’re doing. I’ve been to plenty of hotel spas that feel like afterthoughts, but this one has that proper Turkish bath experience with attendants who’ve clearly been doing this for years. The pools are what really got me though – there’s this infinity setup that looks out over the Mediterranean, and honestly, around sunset it’s pretty spectacular. You’ll want to grab a spot early because word gets around fast among the other guests.
What I really appreciated was how they handle the practical stuff that other places mess up. Check-in was smooth even during peak season, parking is actually adequate (revolutionary concept, I know), and the beach service doesn’t make you feel like you’re bothering them every time you want a towel. The rooms are spacious – I had a sea view that actually delivered on the promise, not some distant glimpse between buildings. Air conditioning works properly, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places get that wrong. The food situation is solid too – their breakfast spread has both the international stuff tourists expect and some really good local dishes that change seasonally. I mean, the künefe alone is worth mentioning to anyone who knows Turkish desserts. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which creates this relaxed atmosphere that’s hard to fake. Sure, it gets busy during Turkish holiday periods and you’ll hear kids around the family pool areas, but that’s just real life at a resort that actually welcomes everyone. For what you get – that prime beachfront location, legitimate luxury touches, and service that doesn’t feel rushed – it’s honestly pretty solid value for this part of the Turkish coast.
