HOTEL OVERVIEW

You know what really caught me off guard about Reflections Tuncurry? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be fancy – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. Right on Beach Street, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Tuncurry Beach, which means you’ll hear the ocean at night if you crack your window (I actually loved falling asleep to that). The whole setup is proper holiday park style – think spacious sites, some cabins scattered around, and that relaxed vibe where kids are riding bikes between the caravans and nobody’s stressed about anything.

The location is honestly perfect if you know the area. You’re on the quieter Tuncurry side rather than the busier Forster across the bridge, but here’s the thing – you can walk to the Tuncurry Rock Pool in about five minutes, and it’s this gorgeous natural swimming spot that a lot of tourists completely miss. The staff actually mentioned it during check-in, which I appreciated because it shows they know what’s worth doing around here. For supplies, there’s a decent IGA just up the road, and if you’re into fishing (which, let’s be honest, you should be in this part of NSW), you can grab bait and tackle without having to drive anywhere. The amenities are solid for a 3-star place – the camp kitchen was cleaner than I expected, hot showers that actually stay hot, and the laundry facilities work properly, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong.

I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, and during school holidays it gets pretty lively with families (fair warning if you’re after total peace and quiet), but there’s something genuinely nice about a place that knows what it is. The powered sites are generous – we fit our caravan plus awning without feeling cramped, and there’s actual grass, not just dirt. Parking’s never an issue, and they’ve got this decent BBQ area where people actually chat to each other, which doesn’t happen everywhere these days. What really sold me was how the owners clearly live locally and know their stuff – they pointed us toward this little bakery in town that does incredible vanilla slices, and mentioned the best times to hit Tuncurry Breakwall for flathead. It’s that kind of insider knowledge that makes a difference. Sure, it’s not luxury accommodation, but for exploring the Myall Lakes area or just having a proper beach holiday without the crowds of bigger resorts, Reflections Tuncurry delivers exactly what you’d hope for. Plus, at this price point and with that location, you’re getting genuine value rather than paying for fancy marketing.

Our cabin was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Cabin 12 had a good size TV and 2 lounges, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was bigger than most cabins we've stayed in. Walking distance to foreshore and Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club. The office staff were friendly and efficient.

What could be improved: The parking space between the cabins was extremely tight, LDV Ute. We parked behind our cabin, which wasn't a problem as it was a quiet time.
