Reflections North Haven – Holiday Park Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Reflections North Haven? The name made me expect some fancy resort, but honestly, it’s more like stumbling onto one of those well-kept secrets that locals don’t really want to share. Right there on The Parade – and if you know North Haven, you’ll know that’s prime real estate overlooking the Hastings River – this holiday park sits pretty much where you’d want to be if you’re serious about actually experiencing the Mid North Coast rather than just posting about it.

The whole setup is refreshingly unpretentious. I mean, it’s got that proper holiday park vibe where families have been coming back for decades, but someone’s clearly put thought into keeping things comfortable without going overboard. The cabins are clean and functional (though don’t expect marble countertops), and honestly, you’re spending most of your time outside anyway. What really sells it is the location – you can literally walk to the boat ramp, which is clutch if you’re into fishing or just want to mess around on the water. The kids were obsessed with the playground area, and there’s enough space that it never felt crowded, even during school holidays when half of Sydney seems to descend on this stretch of coast.

Here’s the thing that really impressed me: the staff actually know the area. Not just the tourist stuff, but where to get the best prawns (hint: not the obvious place), which walking tracks are worth your time, and – this was gold – where to park in town during the summer markets without getting stuck in that nightmare traffic jam on Ocean Drive. The whole place has this relaxed, no-drama energy that’s getting harder to find these days. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the WiFi can be a bit sketchy (which my teenagers were not thrilled about), but that 8.1 rating makes perfect sense when you factor in the value and the fact that you’re basically next door to some of the best bits of North Haven without paying resort prices. If you’re looking for a base to explore the area rather than a place to hide from it, this actually hits the sweet spot.

The park is in a wonderful location and so close to the beach! It was very quiet in the park and the people working there were friendly and helpful. My kids loved the putt putt golf and the go carts that were available at the park. We stayed in a cabin which was a little on the small side, next time we might stay in the bigger cabin just for a little more comfort. Really lovely place to stay. We will be back.

Great cabin with everything we needed. Thoughtfully laid out. Loved the location so close to the beach and river. Beautiful spot for walking. Fabulous wildlife and views.

What could be improved: Bathroom small but extra mirror in bedroom helped. 2nd bedroom tiny. Good for two people only.

The park itself was great . Busy but it is school holiday . Location perfect . Bed very comfortable,Ensuite in glamping tent perfect .Fridge size good . But unfortunately that’s where it ends

What could be improved: We were quite excited about our stay but it the glamping tent itself was a big disappointment. You could definitely tell it was rushed being put together . The exposed steel poles had holes in them that we had small cockroach’s coming out of. It was extremely hot & definitely needs air con. The fly window on the tv / fridge side did not open but the other side did . Airflow was limited . Storage extremely limited especially if you were staying longer than a couple of nights . We left our bags in ensuite as there is only 2 draws to pack clothes away. The front porch was so hot we moved the out door furniture around the side on the road side to get shade & try & keep cool . We made the mistake on our 1st day of leaving the table & chairs on porch , we got back from beach they were so hot we had to hose them down so we could use them . The screen doors don’t have locks so you have to close the glass doors to lock up which meant the tent was very hot . No champagne / wine glasses & maybe if the privacy wall was built across the front of the tent & run the out door kitchen along that & have the entrance on the side where there sink is now would be better option . You can’t prepare anything inside as there is no area at all beside the dining table to prepare food . No clothes lines or anywhere to hang swimmers & towels . Just needs more personal touches & more thought for the glamping experience. For $250 night we were better pitching our own tent which is a big disappointment because the owners , staff & park itself is beautiful but I wouldn’t recommend this glamping tent as it just wasn’t “ Glamping”.
