RAC Busselton Holiday Park
You know what surprised me about RAC Busselton Holiday Park? It actually feels like a proper getaway spot, not just somewhere to crash for the night. I mean, when you first pull up on Caves Road – and parking is genuinely easy here, thank god – the place has this relaxed, family-friendly vibe that hits you right away. It’s one of those spots where kids are running around with boogie boards and parents are actually sitting back with a coffee instead of looking stressed.
The thing is, being in Abbey puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to Busselton’s main strip (honestly, about a five-minute drive to the jetty) but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the summer crowds stumbling past your cabin at midnight. I stayed in one of their powered sites, and honestly, the facilities are way better than most holiday parks I’ve tried around WA. The camp kitchen was actually clean – like, properly clean – and had decent equipment that wasn’t falling apart. You can hear the ocean if you listen for it, especially in the evenings when things quiet down, which is pretty nice when you’re sitting outside with a drink.
What really sold me on this place though is how the staff seem to know their stuff about the area. The woman at reception – I think her name was Sue? – gave me directions to this little beach access point that I never would’ve found otherwise, plus tipped me off that Thursday mornings are perfect for the Busselton farmers market before it gets crazy. The whole park feels well-maintained without being uptight about it, if that makes sense. Like, there are actual trees and grass, not just concrete and gravel like some places. The amenities blocks are modern and spacious, and I never had to wait for a shower even during what seemed like a busy weekend.
Sure, it gets a bit lively during school holidays – there’s definitely a hum of activity with families everywhere – but that’s kind of what you’d expect, and it settles down pretty reasonably in the evenings. The location on Caves Road means you’re perfectly positioned for wine tours if that’s your thing (Vasse Felix is literally down the road), but you’re also close to all the beach stuff that makes Busselton worth visiting in the first place. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was traveling with kids or wanted somewhere that feels more like a proper holiday base than just a place to sleep.

The spacious studio style room was clean and modern. The bed looked new and was comfortable. The large windows looked out over a small paved area with a table and two chairs but we had to keep the curtains closed to maintain privacy from the road through the camp ground. It was quiet and we were able to get a good night's sleep. What could be...

I love the environment and the facilities in the park . The environment is natural and superb What could be improved: We checked in late and there isn’t any notification on how to collect the keys which lead us to wait outside of the door for half an hour even though we kept on ringing the door bell. Fortunately, CS from booking.com helped us to...
