Pg151 PALM GROVE THE GOLDEN PALM CHAPEL ST LEONARDS

South Road Golden Palm, Chapel Saint Leonards, PE24 5TR, United Kingdom

Guest reviews: 9.4

HOTEL OVERVIEW

Honestly, when I first pulled up to the PALM GROVE on South Road, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the name’s a bit of a mouthful, and Chapel St Leonards isn’t exactly on everyone’s radar. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t shout about themselves. This place has that rare quality of feeling both polished and genuinely welcoming, which probably explains that impressive 9.4 rating.

The Golden Palm sits in this quiet pocket of Chapel St Leonards where you actually get a sense of the old seaside charm without all the tourist chaos you’ll find closer to Skegness. I mean, you’re still only a short walk from the beach – and it’s the good bit of beach too, where locals go rather than the packed stretches further south. The owners have clearly put thought into every detail without going overboard with the boutique hotel thing. No pretentious minimalism here, just comfortable spaces that feel like someone’s stylish home rather than a hotel room. The morning light comes in beautifully through these generous windows, and there’s this underlying quiet that’s hard to find along the Lincolnshire coast – Chapel St Leonards doesn’t get the through traffic that hammers other coastal spots.

What really won me over was how the staff actually seemed to know the area properly. When I asked about dinner options, they didn’t just point me toward the obvious tourist spots but mentioned this brilliant little place about ten minutes up the road that I never would have found otherwise. Parking’s straightforward too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with narrow coastal roads and holiday traffic. The whole experience felt refreshingly unpretentious – they’ve managed to create something special without making a big deal about it. If you’re looking for that perfect balance between comfort and character, and you don’t need to be in the thick of everything, this is exactly the kind of place that makes a seaside break actually relaxing rather than just busy.

A spacious, comfortable caravan with everything we needed. Two twin rooms (one kid in each) and a double room for us. Good shower with hot water and good pressure and a fully equipped kitchen, we were very happy with the facilities and the rooms. Tony on hand to welcome us and gave us a few recommendations for our stay.

We liked the location of the caravan on the site. We also liked the layout of the caravan with bedrooms/bathrooms at both ends of the caravan. The site was not too far from the village facilities of Chapel St Leonards.
