Palm Springs Camping Resort Cabin 3
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Palm Springs Camping Resort Cabin 3 on Varner Road, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect — the name had me thinking basic camping vibes, but this four-star setup surprised me in the best way. You’re actually in Palm Desert, which means you get that gorgeous desert landscape without feeling completely isolated from civilization. The parking situation is refreshingly simple too — just pull right up to your spot without any of that resort shuffle you usually deal with.
The Cabin Experience
This isn’t your typical hotel room experience, and that’s exactly the point. The cabin feels like someone’s well-appointed desert retreat that they’re letting you borrow for a few days. What really got me was how they’ve managed to blend that camping resort atmosphere with genuine comfort — you know, actual amenities that work properly. The space has this relaxed, unpretentious vibe that makes you want to kick off your shoes and actually unwind, which I mean, isn’t that why you’re here in the first place?
Location and Desert Vibes
The location really delivers on that desert getaway promise without making you feel stranded. You’re close enough to Palm Desert’s main attractions that a quick drive gets you to restaurants and shops, but far enough out that you actually hear the desert silence at night. During the day, the mountain views are pretty spectacular — especially in the morning when the light hits just right. I found myself spending way more time outside than I usually do at hotels, just because the setting actually encourages it.
What Makes It Work
The whole setup here feels intentional rather than accidental, if that makes sense. They’ve figured out how to give you that outdoor adventure feeling while keeping things comfortable enough that you’re not roughing it. The recent guests seem to get this balance too — the ratings reflect people who came looking for something different from the typical hotel experience. It’s particularly great for couples, apparently, and I can see why — there’s something about the desert setting that just naturally creates those quiet, connected moments.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back, I think, is how this place delivers on its promise without overselling itself. You’re not getting a fancy resort experience, and they’re not pretending you are. Instead, you get this genuine desert retreat that feels both adventurous and comfortable. The fact that couples rate it so highly tells you something — it’s the kind of place where you can actually disconnect from the usual routine and focus on each other. Plus, honestly, there’s something pretty satisfying about telling people you stayed at a “camping resort” that turned out to be this thoughtfully done.
Exclusive resorts offer guests unparalleled luxury and comfort in breathtaking locations, with world-class dining, spa services, and activities tailored to create the ultimate vacation experience.

I did not know about a breakfast or that Wifi was available. The cabin was nice and comfortable. Parking was convenient. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was great. Would stay again.
Cindy
We enjoyed the tiny house features. We had gone for a wedding so unfortunately didn't get to enjoy many of the services. Would enjoy going again for a real vacation!

Hooks everywhere, clothing line in the shower for drying, stocked kitchenware, spacious, bunk beds, so practical in design, pocket doors, lots windows, lofty ceilings
