NRMA Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park
You know what caught me off guard about NRMA Sydney Lakeside? It’s actually right next to Narrabeen Lagoon, not some dinky pond like the name might suggest. I mean, when you roll up on Lake Park Road, you’re basically parking next to this gorgeous stretch of water that connects to the ocean just a few hundred meters away. The whole setup feels way more substantial than your typical holiday park.
The cabins here are honestly better than I expected – and I’ve stayed in my fair share of these places up and down the coast. They’ve got that clean, modern vibe without feeling sterile, plus you can hear the water lapping against the shore if you crack a window at night (which is surprisingly soothing, not annoying like I thought it might be). What really sold me was how they’ve managed to keep things quiet despite being pretty close to Pittwater Road. You get the occasional car, sure, but it’s nothing like staying near the main beach strips in Manly or Dee Why. The staff actually seemed to know the area too – the woman at check-in gave me specific directions to the good coffee spot on Ocean Street rather than just pointing toward “town.”
Here’s the thing about North Narrabeen that makes this place work so well: you’re genuinely close to everything without being in the thick of tourist chaos. Walk five minutes and you’re at Narrabeen Beach (the northern end, which locals know is way better for families), drive ten minutes and you’re in Mona Vale for proper shopping and restaurants. I actually ended up spending more time exploring the lagoon than I planned – you can rent kayaks right there, and the whole area connects to walking tracks that most visitors never discover. The holiday park itself has that relaxed, slightly worn-in feel that somehow works better than places trying too hard to be fancy. Kids were running around between the cabins, people were grilling dinner outside, and there’s enough space that it doesn’t feel cramped even when it’s busy. The pool area gets decent sun most of the day, and honestly, after a few nights here you start to understand why people book the same cabin year after year. It’s got that “we found our spot” energy that’s pretty hard to fake.

What a lovely holiday park!! Loved the outdoor kitchens, and the whole place was incredibly well kept/tidy. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

Everything was lovely and the cabin was clean and spacious...the only thing we found missing was an egg flip in the draw for when we had bacon and eggs...very hard to flip an egg with spoon or potato masher..🤣..otherwise we had a lovely 8 day stay..and the only park we have ever been to that puts on live music for their guests on a Friday...

The price. Soooo expensive and the fact that it hasn’t decided to be a dog friendly park. Like so many others

Excellent location for staff as close to office, though also close to nature and what Narrabeen Lake has to offer. So on days off they could explore the local area and enjoy nature and the beach.

The location is awesome. Kids enjoyed playing in the lake. Beach is excessed with a fun walk on a beautiful walk way. Or through drifting on the lake to the ocean with low tide and drifting back with high tide. With some snorkeling we saw a whole lot of fish.
