The thing is, most people think of Umina as just another beach town, but honestly, this spot sits right where the Peninsula gets interesting. You’ve got Ocean Beach right there (hence the name), but you’re also close enough to walk to Umina’s main strip when you want decent coffee or fish and chips that don’t taste like cardboard. The resort itself has this laid-back vibe that feels more like a well-maintained holiday park than a stuffy hotel – which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to unwind. The accommodation options are pretty solid too; some of the cabins have that slightly retro feel that somehow works perfectly with the coastal setting. Actually, I stayed during a busy Easter weekend and was surprised how quiet it stayed in the evenings – the layout keeps things peaceful even when they’re at capacity.
What really won me over was how the staff seem to actually know the area. When I asked about good walking spots, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic brochure – he told me about the coastal walk that connects to Ettalong and mentioned the best times to hit it before the crowds show up. Little things like that make a difference. The facilities are well-maintained without being flashy (there’s a pool that’s actually swimmable, not just for show), and parking is straightforward – no hunting around side streets or paying extra fees. Sure, it’s not the Ritz, but with a 4-star rating and 8.7 guest score, it’s hitting that sweet spot where you get good value without sacrificing comfort. The location really is the star here though – you can walk to the beach in under five minutes, grab groceries easily, and still feel like you’re somewhere special rather than just another generic coastal strip. It was clean & tidy. Most of all very peaceful & quiet. We loved the pool areas & most of all my kids loved the kid’s activities & craft & everything, games, movies, it was very throughout. The days went so slow & went by smoothly with no fuss at all. Wi-Fi wasn’t that great to get connected. They let us borrow dvd as the rain was very heavy...

Our room location was the best as it was across from the park for the kids to play. Close to everything else such as the splash park, slides and other pool. Very close to everything really also across from the beach even better. What could be improved: There wasn't much to not like. Being last minute tho we did pay a lot for the room. If booked in...

We loved the place...so beautiful natural....We had no expectations when we came to this place but loved it....its equal to going Bali and experiencing nature. Everything near to resort....very nice security staff/life guard...very friendly.... What could be improved: Laundry staff not welcoming...my son greeted laundry ladies 5 times....good...

You can get an amazing sunrise from your cabin.
The park was busy and when you went outside of the cabin the people were loud (camping loud people having fun)but once inside the cabin you could not hear a thing.

It had beach access and the water park was great for the kids, kitchen supplies was good.

Toilet wouldn’t flush properly, there was no mop to clean the floors, the shower head didn’t detach to wash the sand out of the shower, and the kitchen was very narrow.
