First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Fiesta Key RV Resort Waterfront Cottage 33, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t sure what to expect from a cottage at an RV resort. But this four-star waterfront spot in Layton completely changed my perspective. The location is absolutely stunning, sitting right on the water with those endless Florida Keys views that make you forget about everything else. You know what really struck me? The sense of space and tranquility here — it’s like having your own private slice of paradise without the resort crowds.
The Cottage Experience
The cottage itself feels more like a vacation home than typical resort accommodation. There’s a full kitchen that actually works (I mean, really works — not those tiny hotel setups), and the room layout gives you plenty of breathing space. What I loved most was how the waterfront location means you’re literally steps from the water. The views from the windows are incredible, especially during sunrise when the light hits the water just right. It’s the kind of place where you can make your morning coffee and watch the world wake up over the Keys.
Location and Surroundings
Being right on the Overseas Highway puts you in the heart of the Middle Keys, which honestly is the sweet spot for exploring. You’re close enough to Key Largo for day trips but far enough from the crowds to feel like you’ve discovered something special. The parking situation is refreshingly simple — no hunting for spots or paying extra fees. Couples really seem to get it here (the ratings prove it), and I can see why. There’s something romantic about being surrounded by water on all sides, with that endless horizon stretching out in front of you.
What Makes It Special
The waterfront access is the real game-changer here. You can literally walk out and be on the water in seconds, whether you want to fish, kayak, or just sit and watch the boats go by. The resort amenities are there if you want them, but the cottage gives you the independence to do your own thing. I spent hours just sitting outside, watching the water change colors throughout the day — it’s mesmerizing in a way that’s hard to describe. The whole setup feels more authentic than those big chain resorts, like you’re actually experiencing the Keys lifestyle rather than just visiting it.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back is that perfect balance of privacy and access. You get the intimacy of your own waterfront cottage but with the peace of mind that comes with staying at an established resort. The location scores speak for themselves — recent guests consistently rave about it, and I totally understand why. It’s one of those places where you can disconnect from the usual vacation stress and just exist by the water. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or just need to reset somewhere beautiful, this cottage delivers that authentic Keys experience that’s getting harder to find these days.
