Nobby Beach Holiday Village
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Nobby Beach Holiday Village on Hillcrest Parade, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like your typical Gold Coast family resort. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible.
The thing about this spot is it’s tucked away just enough from the main Broadbeach chaos that you can actually hear yourself think, but you’re still close enough to walk to everything that matters. I mean, Nobby Beach is right there – and honestly, it’s one of those local gems that doesn’t get completely overrun with tourists like Main Beach does. The sand’s cleaner, the vibe’s more relaxed, and there’s this great little headland walk that most people miss entirely. The resort itself feels more like a proper neighborhood than a hotel complex, which I actually loved. You’ve got these low-rise buildings scattered around decent-sized pools (plural – there are a few different ones depending on your mood), and the whole layout just works. None of that cramped high-rise feeling you get at some of the bigger places down the coast.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area – not just the obvious tourist traps, but actual local spots. The woman at reception told me about this fantastic Vietnamese place on Miami Road that I never would’ve found otherwise, and she was spot-on about the timing for the Burleigh markets. The rooms themselves are pretty solid for a 4-star – nothing fancy, but everything works and they’re definitely spacious enough for families. I stayed in one of the two-bedroom apartments and there was actually room to spread out, which is rarer than you’d think around here. The kitchen setup was better than expected too, though honestly, with so many good eating options within walking distance, I barely used it. One small thing that bugged me was the Wi-Fi could be a bit patchy in some of the units further from reception, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker.
Here’s what I really appreciated though – the whole place has this laid-back, almost residential feel that lets you settle in properly. You’re not fighting for pool chairs at dawn, the kids’ area isn’t completely overrun, and there’s enough space that you don’t feel like you’re on top of other families constantly. Plus, parking’s actually included and easy, which sounds boring but trust me, you’ll appreciate it when you see what some places charge. The location really is the winner here – you can walk to Pacific Fair if you need to shop, Kurrawa Beach is literally five minutes away, and you’re close enough to both Broadbeach and Burleigh that you can hop between them easily. It’s one of those places where you could genuinely stay for a week and not feel like you’re missing out on anything the Gold Coast has to offer.

Only issue we had was one of the neighbours who had problems with everything and had to continue to speak crap to us all.

I was quite happy with everything. We had trouble initially finding our sullage drain but realised they were shared and not one per site

Comfy little room - small well equiped kitchenette - only a 5 min walk to Miami Marketta

Location was central. However with the road works with the tram it took us double the time to get to places.
The playground and slide was our backyard so the children enjoyed walking out the back door straight to the playground
Could be improved
Apart from the slide there’s not much to do for the little ones.

Great location (we had a car)
Good price
Very comfy bed
Great shower
Spacious lodge
Good facilities on site and in the room
Could be improved
Whilst superficially clean if you looked under the bed it was thick with dust and grime, clearly not cleaned for a very long time, we even found someone's grimy sock!!!!

The staff were really helpful and the facilities excellent
Could be improved
The only downside is that the location meant you really needed a vehicle to get around.
