Look, I’ll be straight with you about the Meryan Hotel – it’s one of those massive all-inclusive places that dominates the Alara Tourism Center strip, and honestly, it does what it promises pretty well. When you first pull up (and yes, parking is actually decent here, which isn’t always a given in this area), you’re hit with that familiar Turkish resort grandeur – lots of marble, towering palm trees, and the kind of lobby that makes you feel like you should be wearing something fancier than your travel clothes.
The thing about Okurcalar is that it’s sort of the sweet spot between Antalya’s chaos and Side’s tourist trap energy. The Meryan sits right in this pocket where you can actually walk to some decent local spots if you get tired of the resort bubble – there’s this little tea garden about ten minutes down the coast road that the hotel staff go to on their breaks, which tells you something. The beach situation is solid, I mean really solid. The sand isn’t the finest you’ll find along the Turkish Riviera, but the water stays surprisingly clear even when the place is packed in July and August. What I actually loved was how they’ve managed the pool areas – yeah, there are multiple pools like every big resort, but they’ve spaced them out enough that you’re not dealing with that sardine-can feeling you get at some places.
The ultra all-inclusive part works better than I expected. Sure, the main restaurant gets a bit chaotic during peak dinner hours (pro tip: go early or late), but the food quality is genuinely good for this type of setup. They do this Turkish breakfast spread that’s worth getting up for, and the evening buffets actually rotate themes that aren’t completely terrible. The staff – and this matters more than people realize – seem to stick around, so you’re not constantly explaining your preferences to new faces every day. Now, the 7.3 rating makes sense when you consider this isn’t boutique luxury, but it’s five-star comfort done right for families and couples who want that full-service resort experience. The rooms are spacious enough that you won’t feel cramped, the air conditioning actually works (not always a given in Turkish summers), and most importantly, the Wi-Fi reaches the beach areas. Sometimes it’s the little things, you know? If you’re looking for that classic Turkish resort experience without the hassle of hunting down restaurants or planning activities every single day, the Meryan delivers exactly what’s on the tin.

Die Auswahl an Speisen ist zu allen Zeiten phenomenal und sehr lecker. Cocktails sind für diese Ecke wirklich okay!
