The caravan itself is genuinely well-done – none of that cheap laminate nonsense you usually get. They’ve clearly spent money on the right things: proper insulation (you’ll appreciate this if you’re visiting in winter), a kitchen that’s actually functional, and a bathroom that doesn’t feel like you’re camping.

What really won me over was the setting, though. Moffat Manor isn’t just some random field with caravans plonked down – there’s real thought to the layout, mature trees everywhere, and honestly, the views toward the hills are pretty spectacular on a clear day. The owners seem to understand that people want the novelty of staying in a caravan without sacrificing comfort. I mean, there’s proper heating, decent WiFi (tested it myself), and the bed is actually comfortable – not one of those thin mattresses that leave you aching. The whole place feels more like a cozy cabin that happens to be mobile than what you’d traditionally think of as caravan accommodation.

Here’s the thing about this area that most people don’t realize – you’re perfectly positioned for both the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway. Moffat town is maybe ten minutes away, and it’s got some genuinely good restaurants (try the Balmoral for dinner if you can get a table). The country park itself has decent walking trails if you’re into that sort of thing, though nothing too strenuous. Parking is right there beside your caravan, which saves the hassle of dragging luggage around. Check-in was straightforward – they actually meet you there rather than making you hunt down some office. One small thing: if you’re tall, watch your head in a couple of spots, but that’s pretty much standard for any caravan. The whole experience feels refreshingly unpretentious – they’re not trying to convince you you’re in some grand hotel, just offering a really solid, comfortable place to stay that happens to be different from the usual B&B or chain hotel options around here.
