Lowside Farm Glamping
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Lowside Farm Glamping, honestly, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a four-star glamping site tucked away in the Lake District. But you know what? The moment I stepped out of my car and heard nothing but birdsong and the distant bleating of sheep, I knew this was going to be something special. The setting is absolutely stunning β rolling green hills stretch in every direction, and there’s this sense of complete tranquility that you just can’t fake. The parking is right there on-site, which might sound trivial, but when you’re hauling bags and supplies for a countryside getaway, it’s actually a godsend.
The Glamping Experience
The accommodation itself strikes this perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find. I mean, you’re essentially staying in a beautifully appointed tent or cabin, but with proper beds, heating, and β this was key for me β a functional kitchen area where you can actually prepare decent meals. The interiors feel thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together, with cozy furnishings that make you want to curl up with a book after a day of hiking. What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to give each unit enough space and privacy that you’re not constantly aware of your neighbors.
Location and Surroundings
Being in Troutbeck puts you right in the heart of some of the Lake District’s most gorgeous countryside, and I can see why couples rate this location so highly. You’re close enough to Windermere and the main tourist spots when you want them, but far enough away that you feel like you’ve genuinely escaped. The walking trails practically start from your doorstep β I spent hours just wandering the footpaths that crisscross the surrounding farmland. There’s something deeply satisfying about being able to step outside your accommodation and immediately be surrounded by this kind of natural beauty.
Daily Life at the Farm
What I loved most was how the place operates β it’s not trying to be a resort or overwhelm you with activities. Instead, it lets the countryside do the talking. Mornings here are magical, actually β you wake up to mist rolling across the fields and the kind of silence that city dwellers like me have almost forgotten exists. The hosts clearly know what they’re doing; they’re around when you need them but never intrusive. I found myself spending way more time just sitting outside my accommodation than I’d planned, watching the light change across the hills and feeling genuinely relaxed for the first time in months.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t the kind of place where you’ll find a spa or fancy restaurant, and that’s exactly the point. People come here to disconnect, to remember what fresh air actually smells like, and to experience the Lake District without the crowds. The combination of comfortable, well-designed accommodations with this absolutely pristine natural setting creates something that feels both special and authentic. If you’re looking for a place where you can truly unwind and reconnect with nature β while still sleeping in a proper bed and having morning coffee that doesn’t taste like campfire smoke β this is it.
Exclusive resorts offer guests unparalleled luxury and comfort in breathtaking locations, with world-class dining, spa services, and activities tailored to create the ultimate vacation experience.
